During my holidays I realized I hadn’t shared this jumper with you. I made this in February last year with this lovely wooly border print from . I struggled for a while wondering what to make with it (as I do 🤣) but I love how it turned out with this lovely pattern.

It’s quite a loose fit, which works well with thicker and chunkier fabrics, but I will either side down for the next, or use the frill pieces on a different raglan pattern.

This is my ! I already own some of the patterns, others I still have to find. The main thing about my make nine is that it is all about basics. I really want to see more basics with plain fabrics, which I can combine with a lot of other patterned items I already own.

1. body and tee. I expect to make a lot of these in all the options. I already have a few fabrics for this
2. jeans will be my first jeans pattern. I already have a lovely rigid denim from
3. dungarees, in a lovely corduroy from . I may make more depending on how they look on me
4. skirt or other midi skirt patterns. I work in a lab, so longer skirts in summer are a necessity
5. by
6. A wool coat (still to find the right pattern)
7. Trousers, possibly the marigold, inspired by the ones that made
8. Bras! I really want to tackle a nice bra in scuba and have already the by
9. Cardigans, possibly the by

Finally the Fairfield shirt had its debut at ’s solo, with Dinas Powys Orchestra.
This was a very lovely make, with lots of new techniques, so a bit slow make. Hubby wanted a mandarin collar, so just skipped the collar pieces. I added two gold buttons to the cuff and one to the collar.

Catching up with yesterday’s of never worn is my vintage Vogue shirt.
I bought this pattern at a vintage fair in Belgium, and it was totally in French. It has a pointed collar and is short (waistline sort of short). By this time I hadn’t follow many patterns yet, and following one in French wasn’t easy (what was I thinking?!? 😂). The fit is not the best, and I didn’t have many high waisted bottoms at the time, so it was hard wearing a cropped shirt.
This was also the moment I realized that men and ladies shirts button to opposite sides! 🙈 how do I know? I used one of my husband’s shirts as a guide and it know is on the “wrong side”.
The fabric is great though, from , and I’m hoping to make soon the new high waisted jeans to wear with this shirt. 🤞🏽

After not posting for for almost a week, I’m back 😂 today’s theme is holidays. My holidays in NY this year were my first holidays with a me made wardrobe! I had a me made item for everyday of the week 😍 here I was wearing my Ogden cami, made from a remnant I bought when I still lived in The Netherlands. Ogden cami was my favourite pattern this summer. I made two tops and a dress and they are all so comfy and cool.

Finally I have pictures of the (thank you )!! I calculated it wrong, because I wanted the green to be in the front, over the red. But hey 😅 I still like it. It’s a very comfortable dress and I will make many more in other colours, lengths and variations.

I’m late with the , so I’m trying to catch up 😜
Day 10: dear past me:
1. You’ll wear that fringe for most of your life. You’ll be tempted to grow it, and will for a few years. But you can’t live without it, so you’ll just cut it back.
2. You don’t know yet, but about 20 years later, you’ll leave Portugal to new adventures. Despite saying for years that you will never be an emigrant. You’ll end up in a place with lots of sheep 🐑 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
3. I know you love making dresses for your dolls out of the fabric scraps you find in Ana and Beta’s scrap bags. You will end up making a big part of your wardrobe.

P.S.: I’m more of a city girl, but we used to spend one whole month of holidays in my father’s hometown, a little village in the north of Portugal, where this photo was taken.

My 2018 sewing victory was definitely my Taylor Trench, from . I bought the pattern when it was released and had in my head that I had to make it in a floral fabric. During my holidays in Portugal, for X-Mas break, I found this gorgeous upholstery canvas, at only 5€/m, and double length!
It was a lot of work, as the pattern has soooo many pieces, but I managed welted pockets for the first time and the neatest sewing job I had ever done. This must be my most worn make 💃🏽
