Can your EV make it to Baguio? ⚡🚗⛰️

A Manila to Baguio EV trip is not just about distance. It is also about elevation, driving style, traffic, aircon use, passenger load, and how much battery buffer you keep before the final climb.

The route to Baguio may look manageable on paper, but the uphill drive can use more energy than regular flat highway driving. That is why EV owners should not only ask:

“Kaya ba ng full charge?”

The better question is:

“How much battery will I still have when I arrive?”

Battery use can vary depending on your EV model, battery size, speed, traffic, weather, luggage, and route choice.

For a Baguio trip, it is better to leave with a high battery level, plan your charging access, and keep enough reserve for city driving, parking, detours, and your return plan.

A portable EV charger like the PC280 can be useful as a backup charging option for hotels, rest houses, private parking spaces, and second homes with a compatible and properly grounded 220V outlet setup.

How long will a VinFast VF 5 take to charge using the PC280 Portable EV Charger?

It depends on your amp setting and outlet setup.

The PC280 gives VinFast VF 5 owners flexible charging from 6A to 32A, allowing you to adjust charging power depending on where you plan to charge — at home, condo parking, office use, hotels, rest houses, or during planned trips.

In general:

Lower amp settings = slower charging, useful for cautious or regular outlet use
Higher amp settings = faster charging, but may need a suitable electrical setup
Full 7.2kW / 32A = requires the right outlet, breaker, wire size, and grounding

Portable charging gives EV owners more flexibility, but safe charging still depends on the setup.

What amp setting should you use with the PC280 Portable EV Charger?

The PC280 is adjustable from 6A to 32A, which means you can change the charging power depending on the outlet setup available.

But the safest setting is not based on the charger alone. It also depends on the outlet, breaker, wire size, grounding, and the EV’s onboard charging capacity.

For regular 220V household or Schuko-type outlet use, start lower first. Settings like 6A–10A are usually better for cautious first-time use or unfamiliar outlets. The maximum power it can take from a regular outlet is up to 16A / around 3.6kW.

For full 7.2kW / 32A, the PC280 needs the right setup: a CEE32 32A industrial outlet, a dedicated 40A breaker, correct wire size, proper grounding, and a stable electrical supply.

The important rule:

Do not expect full 7.2kW charging from an ordinary wall outlet.

What is grounding, and why does it matter when using a portable EV charger?

Grounding is the safety path of an electrical outlet. It helps direct electricity safely away in case there is leakage, fault, or an electrical problem while charging.

For EV charging, this matters because charging can run for several hours and uses a high electrical load. A portable EV charger should not just be plugged into any outlet without checking if the setup is safe.

For the PC280 Portable EV Charger, the outlet should be:

Compatible
Properly grounded
In good condition
Connected to the right breaker and wire size
Matched with the correct amp setting

Important note: a 3-prong outlet does not always mean it is properly grounded. The ground connection must actually be present and working.

For regular 220V outlets, lower amp settings may be used depending on the outlet setup. For full 7.2kW / 32A charging, a dedicated properly rated circuit is recommended.

What is a portable EV charger?

It’s not a powerbank — it does not store electricity inside.

A portable EV charger connects to a compatible power source and delivers power to your EV, giving you another charging option when you’re at home, at work, in a hotel, at a rest house, or preparing for a weekend drive.

The PC280 Portable EV Charger is made for EV owners who want more flexible charging beyond a fixed setup.

Charging speed depends on your EV model, outlet setup, breaker, wire size, grounding, and selected amp setting.

⚡Meet the PC280 — a portable EV charger built for the way EV owners actually live.

Not every driver has the same setup.
Some charge at home.
Some rely on office parking.

Some want something they can keep ready for weekend trips, hotel stays, or changing routines.

That’s exactly where portable charging starts to make sense.
The PC280 is designed to give EV owners a more flexible way to charge — whether at home, at work, or somewhere in between.
Because for many drivers, the best charging setup is not always the most permanent one.
Sometimes, it’s the one that makes everyday life easier.

At JSD Online, we believe smarter EV ownership starts with solutions that fit real routines — and the PC280 is one of them. 🔌

More on the PC280 in the next few posts.

🤔Did you know the Philippines has a law dedicated to the development of electric vehicles?

It’s called Republic Act No. 11697, also known as the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA). In simple terms, it helps support EV adoption in the country by promoting electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, and a broader roadmap for EV industry development in the Philippines.

What makes this important is that EVIDA is not only about the vehicles themselves. It also recognizes that EV growth depends on a bigger ecosystem — including charging stations, standards, research, and long-term planning. The law created the Comprehensive Roadmap for the Electric Vehicle Industry (CREVI) to help guide that transition.

It also goes beyond general policy. Under the law, certain corporate and government entities are required to ensure that at least 5% of their fleet will be EVs within the timeframe set under the roadmap. That matters because it shows that the shift to electric mobility in the Philippines is being supported not only by market interest, but also by policy direction. 🇵🇭

For EV owners, future buyers, and businesses, that’s a meaningful signal. EV mobility in the Philippines is no longer just a niche conversation — it is becoming part of a larger national direction. 🚗🔌

At JSD Online, we believe better EV awareness leads to better EV decisions.

⚡ Public charging is part of EV life —
but relying on it every time can get old fast.

One of the biggest adjustments in EV ownership is
realizing that charging is no longer just about the car.
It becomes part of your day, your schedule, and your
routine.

The drive itself is smooth. Quiet. Efficient.
That part usually feels like an upgrade right away.

But the charging side? That’s where many drivers
start to feel the difference.

Because sometimes it’s not only about whether a
public charger exists.
It’s about whether it’s available when you need it.
Whether it’s working.
Whether there’s a queue.
Whether you have enough time to wait.
Whether that stop still fits into the rest of your day.

And little by little, charging can start to feel like
another errand.

Another stop to think about.
Another slot to check.
Another delay to work around.
Another part of the day you have to plan more
carefully.

That’s why more EV owners are starting to think
beyond public charging alone.

Not because public charging isn’t useful — it is.
But because convenience matters too.

EV ownership is not just about what you drive.
It’s about how charging fits into your everyday life.

At home overnight.
At work during office hours.
At the mall on weekends.
At a hotel or parking slot during out-of-town trips.

The best setup is not always the most complicated
one.
Sometimes, it’s simply the one that works with your
routine — not against it.

We believe EV ownership should feel smarter, lighter,
and easier to live with. And sometimes that starts
with asking a very simple question:

How often do you want your day to revolve around a
charger?

👇 What’s the more frustrating part for you:
finding a charger, waiting for a slot, or planning your
day around it?

⚡ EV ownership doesn't just change how your car runs. It changes how your day runs.
Drivers used to plan around gas stops. EV owners plan around dwell time — where the car sits, and for how long.

🏠 At home overnight.
🏢 At work during office hours.
🛍️ At the mall on weekends.

Each stop becomes a charging opportunity. No detours. No waiting in line. Just routine. 🔌
The mindset shift is the real upgrade. The car just makes it possible.
👇 Where do you think your EV would charge most — home, office, or somewhere else?
