Summer movie night: Open-air screeing of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse at Monrad Park in Palmerston North. Free to attend, starts at 6pm.

Comedy Fest 2024: More than 40 comedians take over Globe Theatre in Palmerston North with 22 shows over 7 nights, with R16 entertainment. Ends Saturday. For full schedule: comedyhubpalmy.com

Craft & food fair: More than 85 stalls will be at Barber Hall in Palmerston North, from 10am to 3pm.

Chinese New Year: Celebrations at Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō, Levin, 11.30am to 1.30pm. The party continues at Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom in Foxton until 3pm.

Medieval Market: 9am to 4pm, Levin Showgrounds. Tickets $5/$2.
