Now the news is out with my lovely regulars, it felt like time to share it here too. ❤️

HandyGal is officially closing its doors, as I’ve taken the next step in my career…moving from supporting a few homes to supporting hundreds if not thousands of individuals in a new full time role 🥹

As many of you know, I’m working towards a Masters in Counselling, and everything I’m doing is shaping me into the best support I can be for our people.

This little business has been a pretty special chapter, and I’ll always be grateful for the homes, trust, and connections along the way 🤍

Favourite highlight of the week 🤍

Spent time at resetting the creative workspace — clutter off the floor, benches freed up, and a shelving system that finally works.

Show rack, sell rack another sell rack (because yes, there’s more pottery than you think 😅), and even room for a wee bargain box to help shift the last of the display pieces.

This kind of work isn’t just about tidying.
It’s about flow, energy, and intention — giving each piece purpose and letting the space support the creative process instead of overwhelming it.

Also… unexpectedly developed a deep appreciation for the boobie mugs along the way. Art with a cause, breast cancer awareness, and honestly? Iconic 👏

Most importantly, my client was always front of mind. Regular check-ins, slowing things down when overwhelm crept in, and making sure this reset felt empowering — not draining. The goal is always encouragement, support, and leaving someone feeling capable in their own space.

Calm space. Clear head. Supported creativity.

I’ll be back soon, but next time to get creative and make a boobie mug! 💚

Confession time 👀

My biggest issue at home?
Doom piles.

Clothes worn once but not dirty enough for the wash…
definitely not clean enough for the drawer…
so they live on the floor.
Or the chair.
Or that one spot we all pretend doesn’t exist.

I’m not a perfectionist — and I don’t want to be.
I aim to be me.

And I’ve learned that when my mental load is big, my doom pile usually is too.

Homes aren’t meant to be perfect.
They’re meant to hold real life.

I’m sitting here feeling really grateful because as of today, I’m officially fully booked until the end of December!

Every message, every home I step into, every family that lets me in… it all means more than you know.

From January 5th, my books reopen with more regular appointment slots as some of my long-term families move out of the region. It’s always bittersweet saying goodbye as these homes became part of my weekly rhythm, my stories, my laughs, my purpose.

Before & After: Kids. Chaos. Conquered. 💚

This wasn’t your standard “couple of baskets and a wipe-down” job, my gorgeous client is inbetween accommodation while their new dream home gets its final sparkle. YAY!

And in the meantime?

The kids decided to fully unpack their entire personalities across the temporary bedroom. Toys, clothes, mystery piles, laundry… you name it, it was there living its best life.

So instead of dragging all this chaos into the new house, we tackled it right now and BEFORE Santa makes a flying visit 🎅🏼

2.5 hours of decluttering, sorting, folding, organising, and resetting the whole space — plus smashing out the laundry mountain hiding in the mix.

And the best part? Their daughter came out absolutely winning 😍 I kept finding coins stashed everywhere like a tiny pirate had been living there. All of them are now collected up and tucked neatly into her new piggy bank. Treasure secured. 🏴‍☠️✨

Temporary home now feels calm again.
New home is going to feel even better…and roomier because the chaos is already handled.

It’s wild how something so small can start to chip away at you. Sometimes enough is enough.

That’s where a solid power hour comes in — one hour of sweaty focused weeding and clearing. A quick win that makes your home feel lighter the second you pull into the drive.

The fridge can be a lot. It can hold hidden pasts from 2020 (looking at you, chutney that was opened once and might…maybe…get used again), sweet treats at the end of the night, old leftovers, mystery containers, and that defrosted meal you swore you’d eat “last week” (yeah…still there). 🫣

As your local Handy Gal, I swoop in to tackle the cold chaos so you don’t have to 🥶. Everything comes out, a proper scrub down happens and everything goes back in its happy place. Oh, and the out-of-date stuff? It goes bye-bye.

This fridge took me an hour for reference.

I admit I may not be a “professional landscaper” 🤫 — but trust me, I know how to tackle weeds, lawns, and all the not-so-pretty jobs on the list.

As a Handy Gal, my mission is simple: keep costs down and keep your home feeling calm, balanced, and a whole lot less overwhelming… inside and outside.

Sometimes all you really need is a helping hand with supple knees and a back that doesn’t scream every time you bend over.

And honestly… we’ve all been there. You plant a handful of calendulas a year ago after seeing an inspiring little veggie patch reel… and next minute they’ve staged a full-blown takeover of the entire property. And yes — that was my garden this month, devastating! 😂🌼
