🪳 Gisborne Cockroach – Friend or Foe? 🪳
We often get asked about the large, dark cockroaches spotted around gardens and firewood piles… and chances are, it’s the Gisborne cockroach!

Here’s the good news:
👉 They prefer to live outdoors – in bark, mulch, and under logs.
👉 They don’t invade homes like the German cockroach.
👉 They’re not known to spread disease.
👉 Only the males can fly – and yes, they do make a loud crunch if stepped on! 😅

While they can look intimidating, they’re more of a nuisance than a pest – and don’t usually require treatment unless they start turning up inside.
