Since yesterday, social media has been flooded with different RIP messages for Alexx Ekubo.

Always smiling.
Always lively.
Always entertaining people.
Always making others happy.

Yet life can change without warning.

This really touched me deeply because many people don’t know that behind the smiles of many entertainers, dry cleaners, tailors, mechanics, makeup artists, barbers, welders, and other skilled workers… there are hidden battles.

In this laundry and dry cleaning business, we work under pressure every day.
Standing for long hours.
Handling customers’ complaints.
Thinking about rent, bills, fuel, light, delivery, and family responsibilities.

Sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves because we are too busy trying to survive.

Dear dry cleaners and skilled workers,
please take your health seriously.

Rest when your body is weak.
Go for checkups.
Eat properly.
Sleep well.
Reduce stress when you can.

Money is important, but your life is more important.

Many skilled workers are silently suffering emotionally, mentally, and physically, yet they still come outside smiling because customers are waiting.

Please check on your fellow dry cleaner.
Call that mechanic friend.
Visit that tailor.
Encourage that makeup artist.
Support one another.

Life is too short for jealousy, unhealthy competition, malice, and unnecessary hatred.

At the end of the day, all the hustle, arguments, and struggles will one day become memories.

May God protect every hardworking Nigerian trying to survive through their skill and craft.

Rest well, Alexx Ekubo.
Your smiles, energy, and moments of laughter will never be forgotten. 🕊️ RIP Legend.

6 days ago, a man walked into my laundry shop holding a white nylon bag. The way he held it, you could tell it was something very important to him.

He opened the bag and brought out a white outfit, but it was badly stained and clearly damaged. As he explained, his voice began to shake.

He said, “I gave this to a dry cleaner in my area, and it was ruined with different kinds of stains.”

Then suddenly, tears started rolling down his eyes.
He continued,
“This outfit was a gift from my late fiancée. She d!!eed two months before our wedding, on her way back from NYSC. I value and cherish this outfit so much. Please help me restore it. It is the only thing I have left to remember her.”

At that moment, I became emotional. I didn’t just see a piece of clothing anymore I saw love, loss, and memory.
I told him, “I will try.”

I worked on the outfit for hours, but nothing changed.
Six hours… eight hours… still no result.
I even spent the night in the shop trying everything I could to remove the stains, but nothing worked. At a point, I felt like giving up.

But then I remembered the promise I made to him, and somehow, strength came from nowhere.

I slept off at some point. When I woke up around 4:30pm, I decided to try one last time.
And finally… the stains came out.

When the man returned around 1pm to check, I handed over the outfit to him properly washed and neatly ironed.
Immediately he saw it, he shouted, “Mirabel!”
I asked, “Who is Mirabel?”
He replied, “My late fiancée.”

The joy on his face… the tears in his eyes… in that moment, I felt truly fulfilled.
He asked, “How much?”
I said to him, “This is my own gift to you.”
He immediately hugged me, with tears in his eyes, and said,
“Nothing will d!!ee in your hands.”

At that moment, I realized something very important:
Some clothes are not just clothes.
👉They are emotions.
👉They are history.
👉They are memories of people we deeply love.

To every dry cleaner and every skilled worker out there:
Never take your work lightly.
You are not just providing a service
you are handling people’s memories and emotions.

Do your work with care.
Because one good job can restore more than just an item
it can restore a heart.

Since yesterday, social media has been on fire over the remand issue of Blord, following his case involving VeryDarkMan.

Reports suggest that one of the major issues revolves around the alleged use of a name, identity, or brand closely linked to VeryDarkMan a situation that led to confusion, accusations, and eventually legal action.

This is a powerful reminder that life is not just about making money…
It is about who you are and what you represent.
When your identity becomes questionable,
when your name is no longer clear,
even success cannot protect your peace.

What started as an online dispute escalated into serious allegations such as identity misuse, impersonation claims, and business-related confusion — until it reached the courtroom.

And now, a man who was free yesterday is in remand today.

That is how quickly things can change.
To every dry cleaner, tailor, barber, and skilled worker reading this:

What is your identity?
Do you have a defined name, a clear brand, and a standard that sets you apart?
Or are you operating in a way that leaves room for confusion?

In the laundry and dry cleaning business, your identity is everything.

Your finishing, your consistency, your professionalism these are what define you.
If you fail to build and protect your identity:
👉Customers may not trust you
👉Others may copy or misrepresent your work
👉Your reputation can collapse without warning

Do not wait for a crisis to wake you up.
Build your name.
Define your brand.

Stand for something clear and consistent.
Because the truth is:
If you do not protect your identity, one day your identity may become your problem.
Dirty clothes can always be washed clean again…

A damaged reputation takes much longer to restore.
Do not just hustle. Build something that truly represents you.

Over the years in this laundry business, I’ve had people walk into my shop asking to rent clothes.

Some will say: “Just give me one shirt and one trouser or one senator up and down make wear go one occasion. I will pay you anything you want!”

And my answer has always been calm but firm: “I’m sorry, we don’t rent clothes here.”

Here’s why…
When a customer brings clothes to me, it’s not just fabric it’s trust.

They believe I will wash, iron, and return their clothes in perfect condition.

So imagine taking those same clothes… and renting them out to someone else just because of small extra money.

That is not business. That is betrayal.
Sadly, some dry cleaners have normalized this. Wash, iron… then secretly rent out customers’ clothes.

Let’s call it what it is: Unprofessional. Immoral. Dangerous.

Yesterday, something happened that reminded me why I will never do it.
A man came to drop his clothes. We counted everything and issued a receipt.
As he was about to make a transfer, he paused and asked me: “Hope you no dey rent clothes for this your shop?”
I said no.

Then he told me his story…
His former dry cleaner rented out one of his shirt that he loves because it was a birthday from his wife . The person that rented the shirt hasn’t returned it for like one month and some weeks now.

His dry cleaner who rented his shirt out collected a phone as collateral only to later discover the phone switches off every five minutes.

He was scammed.
Now think about it…
That customer has lost his clothes. The dry cleaner has lost his reputation. And his business is now at risk.
All because of ₦5,000.

In this laundry business:
You cannot build a lasting brand on betrayal.
In this business, your name is everything. Once it is stained, it is very hard to clean.

To every skilled worker out there
dry cleaners, tailors, barbers, hairstylists, mechanics, makeup artists…

👉Don’t let desperation push you into wrong decisions.
👉Don’t trade your reputation for quick money. 👉Don’t destroy your future for small gain.

Because at the end of the day…
People may forget your price. But they will never forget how you handled their trust.
Integrity still pays.
Dignity still matters.
Reputation is everything.

One thing I have come to learn in this laundry business...
Is that equipment doesn’t make you better than your neighbour.
Character does. Skill does. Integrity does.

The act of using what you have to mock the next person is not pride
It is wickedness.

Yesterday, I went to do a delivery and saw two dry cleaners on the same street arguing.
My mind was just fixed on were I was going to because my client had an emergency meeting, but one statement caught my heart:
"You’ve been in this business for years now, yet you no get machines like me. I just start last year, and I don pass you. Me and you no dey the same level."

That moment, my heart broke.

So this is where we’ve gotten to?
Where we use our blessings as weapons to mock others?

Let me say this from my heart —
Having better equipment doesn’t make you a better person.
Having more customers doesn’t mean you’re more valuable than your neighbour.
Growth should humble you, not puff you up.

Some people are working hard with the little they have.
Washing with their bare hands, scrubbing every stain with sweat and prayer.
They don’t have a big washing machine yet,
Not because they’re lazy but because they’re still building.

You don't know the battles they’re fighting behind closed doors.
You don’t know how many children they’re feeding.
You don’t know how many bills they’re carrying silently.
But because your tools look shinier, you mock them?

That’s not success. That’s not growth.
That’s cruelty.

If your progress makes you look down on others, it’s not progress it’s pride in disguise.
Real success lifts others up, it doesn’t push them down.

To all skilled worker :
Dry cleaners, tailors, mechanics, hairdressers, electricians, photographers, fashion designers, even barbers…

Never be ashamed of your small beginnings.
And if you’ve grown, please never use your growth to shame others.

We are not in competition.
We are in community.

Today, you may have more machines.
Tomorrow, that person you mocked may be the one helping you fix your own.

Stay humble. Stay focused. Respect every hustle.

we’re all just at different stages of the same journey.

11/03/2026

In a football match, there are two kinds of players.
There are players on the field — sweating, struggling, playing hard.
There are other players on the bench waiting for their chance — watching… waiting.
Waiting for one thing:
For someone on the field to make a mistake…
get tired… or get injured.

Why?
So they can be called to take their place.
To prove they can do what the others were doing — or even better

Emeka was a hardworking young man who owned a small laundry shop.
It was not big.
But it was his dream.

Every morning he opened the shop early.
He washed, ironed, folded, and packaged clothes with pride.
But life happened, life became heavy.

Customers were complaining.
Customers were owing him.
Bills were piling up.
Work was becoming overwhelming.

Emeka felt tired — not just physically, but emotionally.

So he spoke to his close friend Tunde.
He trusted Tunde.
Tunde looked at him and said:
“My brother… just close the shop for now.
Rest small. When things get better, you can open again.”

Emeka believed him.
He locked his shop.
He went home to rest.
Five weeks later, his landlord called him on the phone Emeka why you close your shop?
“Emeka,” the landlord said,
“your friend Tunde came here.”
“He told me to evict you.”
“He said he is ready to pay double the rent…
because he wants to open a laundry shop in your space.”

Yes.
That same friend.
That same advice.
That same betrayal.

The landlord told Tunde directly:
“You are a very bad friend.”

To every dry cleaner, barber, tailor, mechanic, painter, shoemaker, and skilled worker:

Don’t bench yourself.

Because while you are sitting down,
someone else is stretching… waiting… hoping you will give up.
So they can take your space,
your customers,
your dream.

💔 Sometimes the deepest pain in life
does not come from strangers…
It comes from people you trusted.
But don’t allow betrayal to make you abandon your calling.
🧠 Think smarter.
💪 Work harder.
🙏 Pray deeper.

Remember:
⚽ The real player is not perfect.
He is the one still playing —
even when tired…
even when betrayed…
even when people doubt him.

Rise again.
Play your part.
Work your skill.
Keep your dream alive.

Because one day,
the same people who thought you would quit…
Will see that you never left the field

Why New Black Jeans Fade After the First Wash — And How to Keep Them Looking New

If you’ve ever bought a brand-new black jean and noticed it fading after the very first wash, you’re not alone. This is a common experience for many people in Nigeria and around the world. The main reason is how the fabric is dyed.

Most black jeans are made using sulfur-based or reactive dyes. These dyes often sit more on the surface of the fabric than deep inside the fibers. This means that when you wash them for the first time, the excess surface dye gets washed away, causing that noticeable fading.

Another factor is the washing method. Many of us tend to wash with hot or warm water, scrub hard with brushes, and dry directly under the hot sun. While these methods may work for other clothes, they are too harsh for black jeans and speed up fading.

Here’s how to preserve your black jeans in Nigeria’s climate:

1. Turn Inside Out Before Washing – This reduces friction on the dyed surface and helps keep the outer color intact.

2. Wash with Cold Water – Hot water opens the fibers and releases more dye. Cold water is gentler and color-friendly.

3. Use Mild, Color-Safe Detergent – Avoid strong detergents, bleach, or soap powders meant for whites.

4. Add Vinegar or Salt During the First Wash – A small cup of white vinegar or a handful of salt can help lock in the color.

5. Avoid Excessive Scrubbing – Gently wash instead of using hard brushes that weaken the dye hold.

6. Air-Dry in Shade – Sunlight in Nigeria is very strong and can quickly break down dye molecules. Drying in the shade helps maintain the color.

With the right care, your black jeans can stay looking sharp and new for a long time, even with frequent wear in our hot CLIMATE.

Why Clothes Get Burnt During Ironing and How to Prevent It 👔🔥

In this laundry business, one of the most painful mistakes is when a customer’s cloth gets burnt during ironing. It doesn’t just spoil the clothe it damages trust.

Clothes don’t just burn by mistake—there are clear reasons behind it:

1. Wrong Temperature Setting
Every fabric has its own heat level. Cotton can take high heat, but polyester, silk, or nylon will scorch or melt if the iron is too hot.

2. Leaving the Iron in One Spot
When the iron rests too long on one area, the concentrated heat damages the fibers and leaves burn marks.

3. Starch or Moisture Residue
Unevenly sprayed starch or leftover moisture heats up quickly and can cause brown stains that look like burns.

4. Dirty Iron Soleplate
Residues from starch or detergents on the iron’s soleplate can overheat, stick, and burn fabrics.

5. Heat-Sensitive Fabrics
Synthetic fibers melt easily under high temperatures if not handled carefully.

How to Prevent Clothes from Burning:

Always check fabric care labels before ironing.

Start with the lowest heat setting and increase if necessary.

Keep the iron moving continuously—don’t pause on one spot.

Clean the iron soleplate regularly.

Use a pressing cloth for delicate materials.

With the right knowledge and careful handling, ironing keeps clothes sharp and fresh—without the risk of burns.

WHY YOUR BLACK SHIRTS, POLOS & JEANS KEEP FADING AND HOW TO MAKE THEM LAST

Black clothes carry confidence, class, and power.
Yet every wash seems to steal a little of that deep black beauty.

Why they fade fast:

1.Too much detergent: Excess soap attacks the dye and leaves dull residue.
Hot water: Heat strips colour fast black suffers the most.

2.Direct sunlight: Sunlight acts like bleach on dark fabrics.

3.Overwashing: Washing after every wear speeds up fading.

4.Rough washing: Hard scrubbing, twisting, or harsh machine cycles damage the dye.

How to keep black looking black:

👉Turn clothes inside out before washing
Use cold or lukewarm water

👉Use mild detergent — less is better
Wash with other dark colours only

👉Avoid aggressive scrubbing or spinning

👉Dry in the shade, not under direct sun
Wash only when truly dirty

Black clothes aren’t ordinary they represent style and confidence.
Wash them with care, and they’ll stay bold, deep, and powerful for longer.

11/12/2025

The day I entered that police station and saw Jonathan sitting on the cold floor, my heart scattered.
Tears just rolled down without control.
He looked up at me with eyes full of shame and said softly,
“Na my first time I swear.”

In that moment, I felt the kind of pain that sits deep inside the chest pains that words cannot describe.

Jonathan is not a criminal.
He is not a bad person.
He is a dry cleaner.
A simple Nigerian hustler.
One of us.

He wakes up before the sun, washes clothes till his back aches, presses them till sweat drips down his face, delivers them with a smile—yet nothing seemed to work for him.
His washing machines were bad.
Customers were reducing.
NEPA bills were choking him.
House rent was hanging on his neck like a heavy chain.

His sister was in nursing school.
His younger brother was in the university.
They depended on him.
Everybody was calling his name when it was time to pay bills…
But nobody asked how he was coping.

Every night Jonathan would lie down in the dark and cry quietly.
He said sometimes he would sit alone and ask God,
“Why me? Where do I start from?”

But he kept moving.
He kept showing up.
He kept pretending.

This country has a way of squeezing people until they can’t breathe, yet they must smile.

One day, out of frustration, he told one of his customers what he was going through.
And that customer looked him dead in the eyes and said he would give him all the money he needed

only if Jonathan would help deliver hard drugs for two weeks.

Two weeks.
Just fourteen days.
For money that would solve all his problems.

Jonathan broke.
With shame in his voice he said,
“I was tired I no get anybody. I just wanted help.”

And on the first day of this desperate decision, he was caught.

One mistake.
One moment of weakness.
One heavy load too much for one man to carry.

To every dry cleaner, tailor, barber, mechanic, vulcanizer, carpenter, and skilled worker out there

Some of us are fighting battles bigger than your salary.
Some of us life has pushed us close to the edge.
Some of us are carrying families on our backs without any help.

Some of us haven’t rested well in years.
Some of us are smiling at customers with tears stored inside your heart.
Some of us have one broken machine away from hopelessness.
Some of us are drowning in silent struggles that nobody will ever understand.

But please hear this:

Your suffering is not evidence that you are a failure.

Your slow progress is not proof that God has forgotten you.
Your craft your hustle is still honorable.

Don’t let pain push you into darkness.
Don’t let frustration drive you into the arms of people who will use your desperation against you.
Don’t let hunger make you accept shortcuts that will destroy everything you’ve worked for.

This life is hard yes.
But prison is harder.
Losing your name, your dignity, your future that pain is worse.

Hold on. Cry if you must. Rest if you need to.

But don’t give up on yourself.**

A lot of people in this country are fighting silent wars.
You are not alone.
Your struggles don’t make you weak they make you human.

Jonathan’s story is not to shame him.
It is a reminder that many good people are suffering quietly…
People who deserve support, not judgment.

To every hustler out there:

Your breakthrough will come.
Your light will shine.
Your hands these same hands that work tirelessly will bring you joy again.

Better days are ahead.
Don’t lose yourself before they arrive.
