Rodent Control
It is our belief that pest infestation is present where there is human activity. If they don’t thrive on our waste products, they invade our premises from nearby buildings, for example the house mouse reaches sexual maturity in 30-35 days with an average of at least 6 young mice per litter, with an average of 6-7 litter.
A comprehensive rodent control programme with XCS fumigation covers a range of preventive measures. Our integrated approach of Exclusion, Sanitation and Reduction brings customers many benefits, the most important being an assurance that health risks and profit loss are minimised.
Our rodent control solutions provide protection from the risks of contamination, spread of disease and material damage these pests cause.

Professional Carpet Cleaning

Professional carpet cleaning is the most misunderstood of the professional cleaning industries. Often referred to as steam cleaning, professional carpet cleaning has evolved of the years and there are five methods being used today to professionally clean carpets. “Steam cleaning” is not a good way to describe any of the commonly used methods for cleaning carpets today.

There are many reasons for professional carpet cleaning, one it will increase the life of your carpets to have them cleaned regularly. The dirt embedded in the carpets rub together to prematurely wear out the carpet fibres. The appearance is better with clean carpets; health is improved with less soil and or dust in the home etc

Hot Water Extraction method

The method commonly referred to as steam cleaning is better referred to as Hot water Extraction. This is where you apply a pre-spray and use agitation and a hot water rinse to remove the soap and soil. The agitation can come in the form of a machine applying pressure with brushes or simply using the wand which vacuums up the hot water sprayed on to the carpets to rinse out the pre-spray. There are different chemical requirements depending on whether or not the carpet is a synthetic or natural carpet fiber.

Extraction is by far the most important step in this process. Since the hot-water extraction method uses much more water than other methods like bonnet or shampoo cleaning, proper extraction and air flow are critical to avoid drying issues. Drying time may also be decreased by extra use of fans, air conditioning, and/or outdoor ventilation.

Older surfaces, such as double jute-backed carpets and loose rugs with natural foundation yarns, could shrink after a wet treatment. Newer carpets, such as with synthetic backing and foundation yarns, do not shrink, and they smooth easily. The variety in carpet types and situations make a good argument to always use a professional carpet cleaner who has been trained and certified.

Wet-cleaning systems naturally require drying time, which has led to customer fears and concerns about very slow drying, the risk of discoloration returning during drying, and odors, bacteria, fungi, molds, and mildews. Balancing the need for rapid drying (attributable to lower flow rate through the cleaning jets of a spray system) and the need to remove the most soil (attributable to higher flow rate) is a key technique that must be mastered by carpet-cleaning technicians

The Cleaning Basics

We all know that chores can pile up to the point where you don't know where to begin. The house cleaning tips below will help you get the job done right, and more efficiently, so you can get back to enjoying your free time

The first step in house cleaning is to look at each room and make a checklist of your priorities. Identify specific tasks you would like to accomplish and as each job is completed, cross it off your list.

Put all your cleaning supplies in a tote so you can carry it with you
Have all necessary cleaning tools with you
Begin in the back of your home, and work your way to the front, room, by room.
Clean left to right, back to front, and top to bottom for maximum efficiency
Start at the top of a room and work your way down as you clean and straighten.
If it’s dirty, clean it now. It takes less time to remove fresh dirt than caked-on dirt.
Make your every move count. Get organized before you start with that cleaning tote.
Focus on the job at hand. You are cleaning the house, and distractions will drag out the job.
Try to clean regularly. It's easier to do routine cleaning and maintain a high shine if you are on top of it.

Dear Customer,

Because of the dangers associated with fumigation, preparation is one of the most important factors in guarding against potential health hazards related to exposure of fumigation chemicals and gases. Below, are some of the precautions we advise you to take before we work on your property:
1.Remove all people from the area to be fumigated except a resident (wearing a mask) to es**rt the fumigator around the property.

2.Keep a tin of milk per resident preferably peak or gaseous drinks (coca-cola or 7-up) to be ingested immediately after fumigation exercise to break down toxins if inhaled.

3.Remove all potted or hanging plants

4.Remove all dogs, cats, fish, birds, or other pets from the house and even from a yard close enough to the fumigated area that chemical fumes could be present

5.Remove, or seal in plastic bags, any food and medications that might be exposed to fumigation gases
6.Open all plastic bags containing clothes.

7.Remove vehicles from garages that may be attached to a house that is to be fumigated

8.Remove mattresses inside plastic covers, including baby mattresses.

9.All foods, including candy and chewing gum, foods in refrigerators and freezers must be removed, or sealed with tape in Nylofume bags

10.All medicine not sealed in glass or metal containers must be removed

11.Dry dirt 12" or more from the house foundation should be watered.

12.Turn off air conditioning units

13.Open drawers, cupboards, and closet doors prior to fumigation

14.Remove all jewelry, valuable items not only from chemicals but possible theft.15.Remove or bag open soda bottles

16.Remove or bag alcoholic beverages with seals broken

17.Bag or remove open cans of pet food

18.Empty ice in ice-makers

19.Safes, vaults, lockers, cabinets must be unlocked and opened

Re-Use of the Fumigated Area
When the fumigation period has passed, please allow at least 15 to 30 hours, you should air out your house. This means all windows and doors should be opened. Fans should be used to exhaust chemical fumes that remain after initial fumigation. You should also take steps to ensure that your house is thoroughly deep cleaned as a safety measure for residue.

BATHROOM CLEANING
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure when dealing with soap scum. Switching to liquid shower gel from bar soap will eliminate the talc in soap that tends to collect, along with body oils, on mineral deposits left behind when water dries on shower walls. Wiping down tile shower enclosure walls with lemon oil also retards the formation of soap scum.

There are many commercial cleaners available for shower scum. The secret is to apply and give the product time to dissolve scum. Reapplications may be necessary for severe build up. Keep applying to keep surfaces wet, in order to soak off scum. Scrub with a white nylon-backed scrubbie. Repeat applications may be necessary to removal all scum. Rinse and dry. Baking soda and water paste make an effective scum remover. Spraying hot white vinegar on walls is also effective on scum. For severe mineral deposits, there are products available to remove calcium, lime, or rust.
Whatever cleaner you decide to use, give the product or solution time to dissolve and degrease shower walls. Repeat applications and white scrubbie may be necessary. Daily maintenance and a weekly cleaning should minimize problems with soap scum and mineral deposits.

TIPS FOR GETTING RID OF MOLD/MILDEW
• Dry out moisture in the home. Pay particular attention to closets and drawers. During wet weather, poor ventilation can cause them to become damp and musty, leading to the spread of mildew. Allow air to circulate by hanging/packing clothes loosely. Leave closet doors and drawers open for a time. Ensure all wet clothing are fully dry before putting them away in closets or drawers.
• Keep all areas, clothes, upholstery and drapery as clean as possible. Dirt and grease provide nutrition for mold and mildew. Clean all areas prone to grease splashing in the kitchen.
• In areas where you see mold growth, use a sanitizing cleaner. A good technique is:
Mix one part chlorine bleach with 3 parts water.
Wash the area and leave on for 10 -15 minutes.
Scrub with a soft brush.
Rinse and dry carefully or allow to air dry

• Plants are nature’s air purifiers. Studies by NASA and the University of Washington show that plants reduce dust and volatile organic compounds in the air while increasing oxygen and humidity. Plants also suppress airborne mold spores. Tropical plants grow microbes on their roots to compost dark, humid, warm debris from a rain-forest canopy. These microbes also work well to remove mold and mildew from your environment

FINALLY, your Air Conditioner is the fastest way to get rid of mold, it acts as a dehumidifier, drying out the air in your home, leave it running a couple of hours more than usual.

Mildew in your bathroom

Keep ahead of mildew so it doesn't become a problem. Every six months spray your bathroom ceiling with a 50/50 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water. Peroxide is a safe bleach and won't harm the environment or your lungs. Find larger quantities of peroxide at beauty or medical supply stores.

Spray the mixture on and leave it. No need to rinse or scrub. If you currently have mildew, follow the above directions. Wait two hours and respray. Then wait 24 hours and spray a third time if necessary.
