Why does your car paint fade so fast in Sri Lanka?
Car paint doesn’t suddenly fade—it slowly breaks down over time. In Sri Lanka, constant UV exposure from strong sunlight weakens the clear coat layer, which is the protective layer above your paint. Once that starts degrading, the color underneath begins to look dull and lifeless.
Dust and sand in the air also play a big role. Every time you wipe or wash your car incorrectly, those particles create tiny scratches (micro-swirls) that reduce shine. On top of that, rain mixed with pollution can leave marks that slowly damage the surface if not cleaned properly.
This is why some cars lose their shine much faster than others even with regular washing.
