The Senior Management of Muranga West Water and Sanitation Company (MWEWASCO) led by the MD, Eng. Kamau, and flanked by the ward representative for Muguru Ward, Hon. Muchiri, spent the better part of today launching part of the ongoing lastmile pipe projects at Gathima,Kiriko and Muhari villages in Iyego, Kangema. This project is funded by World Bank through Waterfund. It's one among the several funded proposals MWEWASCO is implementing across Kangema and Kahuro Sub-counties with the support of the County government of Murang'a aimed at improving water and sanitation services for our consumers.

To improve water supply in our areas we have collaborated with Athi Water Works Development Agency and secured some projects as follows;
1) 7kms mainline from our Tuthu intake to boost water supply in Kanyenyaini and Kangema towns and it's environment
2)2no Major Reservoir tanks at Kanyenyaini town and Kawariûa-Kiruri
3)3000m³/day water treatment plant at Tuthu intake

We are also currently doing 50kms lastmile distribution pipelines across all our 5 wards through funding from CLSGII programme with Water Service Trust Fund to improve water access and targeting about 3000 new connections.
This will help improve greatly on the areas accessing water

WATER INTERRUPTION NOTICE
We wish to inform you of water supply interruption caused by a major breakdown of our mainline at Nganga-ini in Kanyenya-ini(Tuthu Road). We are working towards restoring flow soon.Kindly use available water sparingly.
Affected areas: Urban, Gitugu, Kiairathe, Mutaro, Githiga and Kibutha.

Affected areas; Giaitembe, Karugiro, Kangema town, Kibango and Gakeu.
