UPCYLE METALLIC CLUCTH - NEW STRIPES DESIGN

Black & silver stripes, also available in Black & Good Stripes

Made in small batches with an NGO in North Delhi who helps social, phosically and mentally challenged individuals earn a living, through community, art and purpose.

We use MLP (Multi Layer Plastic) waste, cut it into stripes and weave into a new textiles.

Joli India loves the concept of shimmery surfaces they may represent luxury, being elegant at the same time made from discarded plastics. Giving a new and extended life to what would have gone to the trash > landfilled!

College BA Project - Story Time

I did my end of BA Diploma project using screen printing to paint basic black geometric shapes on white cups & saucers porcelaine.

My concept was not only to do something aesthetic but also a study on how to push the purpose of decoration toward the development of awareness & personal growth! Let me explain.

I wanted to show how the black pattern, by reflecting into the white, creates more designs, new designs that can be noticed, depending on where, and if the viewer moves out from its point of view.

This was a way to invite the viewer to move out of its confort zone so he could experience / see something new and different, and how beneficial it is to be uncomfortable sometimes!

There was also the idea to have the cup disappear on the saucer because visually it looks like the dots and/or lines run from the saucer through the cup and back onto the saucer > the viewer had to position itself from the top. I semi- succeeded on this one, as I had to put down each line manually.

But the idea that some viewer would take the time and potentially make the effort to look from above and realise internally « oh it looks like the cup has disappeared / merged into the saucer », is something that made me connect to the viewer on another level! Also the viewer had a little personal experience that might make him feel special 🤍

Joli 🤍 Black 8 White

From as long you as I remember, patterns and textures have awed me. From graphic, organic, optical, geometric, linear, etc.

Many colour combo vibrate for sure, and the Black and White one is something I love to explore from time to time, and it becomes endless.

The optical illusion of graphic art has always been on of my creative focus and I love to play with this concept > how nothing is as it seems. 🤍

Our Chindi Clutches are made from collected Chindi rugs. These rugs are made from fabric wastes which have been woven together to create unique colour combos and in this case unique tweedy tartan textures!

This piece makes me think of a Chanel tweed 🤍 > by the way, last photo of this reel is a Chanel handbag feature in Vogue India Jan/Feb 2026 edition! Same same, just price difference! 😂

I had these Chindis since a few years now and haven’t had the time to have them made into our handmade clutch bags.

We line all of them with our signature checkered lungis and finish each piece by hand with a contrasting cord. The chain strap is removable so it can be a clutch or a handbag.
