These bikes have sufficient weight and sufficient performance to for both long and short rides. The riding position is upright and hence people riding tourers or cruisers seldom get tired, Enfield riders included. The new UCE engines are much more reliable than its predecessors. Royal Enfield have been organising trips all over the country and frequently (which also happens to be a marketing strat
egy) giving the bike manufacturer a cult status. Now, coming back to the question you asked, its often fun and relaxing to ride the same over long distances compared to various other motorcycles or in other words "performers" which are not really made for long and relaxed rides. One thing people don't often realize about touring and cruising are that even though the up-right sitting position seems very comfortable (which it is) when used to really long periods time, I mean like years of using the same will eventually give you lower back pains. Blame the extremely comfortable up-right sitting position. Every single fault on the road will be affecting your spine. Every little wrinkle and gutters will have an adverse effect on your spine and hence when used daily for years, will end up with an aching lower back. Once in a while fun run and trips are really worth it and i would recommend it to everyone too. But if daily commute is your majority purpose, I would sugggest another bike. Happy Riding.
