At Solana, we are committed to using the finest earth-friendly materials available to us and to doing our part to combat the climate crisis.
In terms of quality, we do not cut corners nor exploit workers. Our shoes are handmade. For espadrilles, this means hand stitching the upper and hand sewing the jute cording. The other espadrille makers do not do this because it's time intensive and costly, but we believe it's worth it. You will see and feel the difference -- your shoes will last for years, not months 🍃

Borneo is our boldest design and can be dressed up or down. The intricate embroidery is inspired by indigenous tattoo motifs. In this design, you can find several powerful symbols. At the center is a Bunga Terung, or rosette, representing valiance and courage, with the spiral symbolizing the circle of life. On the sides are scorpions, which were commonly tattooed on the warriors of Borneo for protection in battle.

Our Bromo is handcrafted in Spain with impeccable attention to detail. Bromo is our brightest style yet and adds a fun pop of color on sunny days. The intricate embroidery is inspired by our journey to Mount Bromo, an active volcano in East Java. The cloud pattern, called mega mendung, is a classic Indonesian motif inspired by Chinese iconography 🏔☁️
