Cleaners… something is brewing.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been having some very interesting conversations with some seriously talented cleaners across the UK.

People who specialise in things like

Extreme cleaning
Biohazard
Specialist work most people wouldn’t even know where to start with

And do you know what?

Every single one of them started exactly the same way most of us did.

Bucket.
Cloths.
A bit of graft.
And a dream of doing better.

Which got me thinking…

What if cleaners could actually get in a room together and learn from each other?

No ego.
No gatekeeping.
No pretending everything is easy.

Just real people sharing the truth about building a proper cleaning business.

Something big is coming very soon.

Be honest.

Does your page look like this?

You post once every few weeks
It says “availability this week”
Nobody comments
Nobody messages
And you end up relying on recommendations again

Sound familiar?

The thing most cleaners don’t realise.

Your page should be working like a 24 hour advert for your business.

Showing your work
Showing your personality
Building trust
Attracting better clients

But most cleaners are busy actually cleaning… not sitting around writing posts all night.

I get it.

Because I used to be a cleaner myself.

KNOW YOUR BLOODY WORTH

Right cleaners… gather round a minute.

Because this is something that makes my eye twitch.

You are scrubbing toilets, degreasing ovens, moving furniture, dealing with other people’s absolute filth…

…and charging £12 an hour like you’re doing them a favour.

Excuse me?

Some bloke down the road will happily charge £90 to unblock a sink
A plumber charges £120 just to turn up
A roofer charges £300 for half a day

But cleaners?

“Oh I just clean.”

JUST clean?

You’re saving marriages, sanity, and probably half the country’s mental health.

You’re the one people panic call when the in laws are coming.
You’re the one fixing the mess after builders.
You’re the one dealing with mould, grease, limescale, dog hair, and God knows what else.

And yet some of you are still pricing yourselves like it’s 2004.

Stop it.

You are not the cheap option.

You are a professional service.

Charge properly.
Run your business properly.
And for the love of bleach…

stop apologising for making money.

And if writing posts, explaining your value, and keeping up with social media makes your head hurt…

Let me paint the picture.

You’ve been up since daft o’clock.
You’ve cleaned a house that looked like it hosted a small festival.
You’ve smiled politely while someone said,
“It’s not that bad, is it?”

You’ve chased one invoice.
Avoided one time waster.
Quoted a job that will absolutely take longer than they think it will.

And now it’s 9pm.

You’re in your pyjamas.
Your back’s aching.
Your phone’s in your hand.

And you know you “should post something.”

So up goes:

“Another happy customer 😊”

Lovely.

But that post isn’t filtering out the
“Can you do it cheaper?” brigade.

It isn’t positioning you as the professional who runs a tight, established business.

It’s just… there.

I ran a cleaning company for 17 years.

I know the graft.
I know the margins.
I know the burnout.
And I definitely know the clients who want champagne service on a lemonade budget.

Cleaners keep businesses running.

Instead of being an afterthought squeezed in between tea and collapse.

You don’t need to become a marketing expert.
