On this Easter Sunday, I was reminded of something small but sweet: after Jesus rose from the dead, one of the first things He did was eat with His disciples. And what did they give Him? A piece of broiled fish… and a honeycomb.
(Luke 24:42)
There’s something powerful about that. Honey has always symbolized sweetness, healing, and God’s abundance. In Scripture, it represents the richness of His Word — “sweeter than honey to my mouth” (Psalm 119:103). The Promised Land itself was described as flowing with milk and honey.
So today, as we celebrate resurrection, new life, and hope, I’m also thinking of the simple beauty in that moment — Jesus, alive again, sharing a meal, tasting honey.
He is risen. And life is sweet.
