Call out for a tripping hot tub! In most cases when a hot tub is tripping, it’s related to either the heater or pump, tho PCB, optional blower or ozone can also cause it. Simply disconnect one component at a time to better test. Power down, disconnect and then power back up, never work on a live PCB! This spa had indications with rust built up around the pressure switch on the heater, so we disconnect the heater terminals first so it won’t draw power, power on at the mains and take a quick visual and see if it runs without tripping. On this visit, it looked like the pressure switch leaking, which was then tracking water along to the live heater terminals, causing tripping. After further testing, the whole heater needed replacing sadly as after replacing the pressure switch, we found the leak was coming through a corroded part of the heater. In most circumstances, when a heater trips it’s usually the element itself. Being the original heater at nearly 18 years old, it had done alright!
