PCC back on track now.

We are pleased to say the issue with recycling collections has been fixed.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by the issues at the recycling plant over the past few days, we're now back on schedule with the festive collection calendar (so your dates will still be different over the next few days). Thanks very much for your patience and understanding.

Update from PCC about recycling collections.

Please be aware, recycling services may be delayed over the next few days due to unforeseen circumstances at the recycling sorting plant. If your recycling bin is not collected on your designated day as expected, please leave your bin out and the crew will collect it as soon as they can. Please be assured we are doing all we can to create a timely process for collections.

Make the most out of your doorstep recycling:

Green recycling bin/box: paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, tins, cans and aerosols.

Grey food caddy: all food waste, shredded paper, cut flowers
Carrier bag on top of the green bin: small electrical/electronic waste

Clear bag on top of the black bin: batteries

If you live in a communal block, batteries, electronic and electrical waste will need to be taken to a local collection point like supermarkets or the Household Waste Recycling Centre.

Christmas and New Year bin collection update. Merry Christmas from Green Cleen Portsmouth - Wheelie Bin Cleaning

There will be some changes to your rubbish, recycling and food waste collections around Christmas and New Year.

Please put your rubbish and recycling out by 6am. If you miss your collection, you can take it to the Port Solent household waste recycling centre. It's open seven days a week, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day (booking is required).

From tomorrow, Friday 1 September, put your bins out by 6am on collection day.

We recently changed out policy after we asked you to do this before during adverse weather, such as heat waves and strong winds. We noticed that this change enhanced our operations and efficiency so decided to make it a permanent change. It will mean a smoother waste collection service so a win-win for all!

Get your bins out earlier from 1st September.

A change to our bin presentation time is coming. From 1 September, the bin presentation time will be moved from 7am to 6am.

A heads up. Early bin collections in Portsmouth.

Due to the high temperatures expected for the rest of the week all waste, recycling, and food waste rounds will start 1 hour earlier. The collections will start at 6am tomorrow, Thursday and Friday morning.
This will help crews complete rounds ahead of the hottest period of the day. We ask that residents to put out their bins, caddies or bags the night before collections.

There will be no change to rubbish and recycling collections during the bank holidays in May.

Rubbish and recycling collections scheduled for Mondays will continue to be collected on their usual collection day.

Please put your rubbish and recycling out ready for collection by 7am.

If you are registered for the Green Waste Club, your garden waste collections will also continue throughout this time.
