**GARDEN RAILWAY SHOW**
Join us on Saturday 28th September for a fantastic event organised by our good friends The Yorkshire Group of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers Ltd
Featuring large-scale railway layouts operating locomotives powered by real steam and over thirty traders and exhibitors. All inside the Roundhouse with the Roundhouse’s full-size locomotives and rolling stock creating an appropriate backdrop.
You’ll find traders displaying and selling pretty much everything you might want for a garden railway – ready-to-run model steam locomotives, battery-electric locos, ready-to-rub rolling stock, kits to make locomotives and rolling stock, trackwork, bridges, buildings, model people, books and all the small scenic items, bits and components that go to make a large-scale model railway for you to enjoy in your own garden.
Representatives of the 16mm Association will demonstrate some of the skills for building kits. Members of the society aiming to preserve and conserve parts of the former Glyn Valley Tramway will also be displaying their preservation work.
The four layouts at the show are all BIG – much larger than you will see at most railway exhibitions. Two of the layouts enjoy a track circuit around 40m (130ft) long. All the layouts will be operating both live-steam and battery electric locomotives.
The layouts at the show include Mount Dowd, Dixon Green & Saed-y-Parc, Ffordd-y-Deryn and Rhydypenderyn.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy train rides on the Roundhouse Springwell branch line as well as demonstrations in the signal box and regular displays of the turntable in operation. The Deltic Preservation Society depot will also be open.
Entry prices are:
Adult: £14
Child (age 3-15): £7
The event will run from 10am to 4pm, last entry at 3pm.
