You know you’re in for a challenge when the register plate looks like this… 😬

Another unlined log burner we’ve swept recently — and as always, much dirtier and trickier to clean. These setups allow soot and tar to build up far quicker, they’re harder to sweep properly, and they’re nowhere near as efficient as a correctly lined installation.

Having a liner improves draw, keeps things cleaner, and helps the stove run safer and more efficiently.

Another unlined stove in for a sweep, these are always dirtier and more awkward than a properly lined installation.

Unlined stoves also usually fall short of current regulations and can impact safety, efficiency, and long-term chimney health.

Here’s a multi-fuel stove we recently repaired, swept, and tested🔥

A bit of annual maintenance goes a long way - far better than waiting until something fails and needing expensive parts or a full replacement.

That’s not quite how it works! 🔥

A chimney fire doesn’t actually clean the flue - it leaves behind glazed soot and tar that are even harder to remove, and it can cause serious internal damage to the liner or brickwork.

Regular sweeping is the safest and most effective way to keep your chimney clean and prevent fires in the first place.

This one was definitely up there with some of the worst we’ve seen - but all sorted now and safe to use again.
