An urgent call out yesterday to Birmingham where a Magpie was trapped in a superstore. Environmental health closed the cafeteria and bakery. Two nets were set in its regular flight path but the bird quickly learnt to avoid this area. Six hours later and another 6 strategically set nets limited its options and the bird was captured at 2300hrs. It was in good health and released the next day away from the premises as per the conditions of the licence.
