Reducing our waste is the answer

The UK sends more plastic waste to Turkey than to any other country but not all of it reaches recycling plants.

Remain positive not all bad is coming from this situation. Since the lockdown.....

💛 Venice's canals have become crystal clear.

💛 Italy coasts have dolphins coming nearer and nearer.

💛 Japan now has deer roaming free in the streets, and Thailand: the same with monkeys.

💛 China has record breaking pollution cuts.

💛 The Earth has already began showing signs of amazing things that are happening from the absence of human pollution.

🤔What if- and hear me out..- what if the entire human population used this as an opportunity to restart society on a greener, more environment conscious foot.

💛 What we're seeing in the span of a couple of days is amazing.

Maybe it’s time for us humans to look after our planet, maybe it’s time to listen to the universe 🤷‍♀️

One takes a bit of effort and preparation but makes a massive difference, the other is the lazy don’t-care-about-the-planet option...

It’s a mind and a habit change and took me a few months to implement and get my hand round, especially when travelling and being out and about and still there’s more I could do...

But it’s the many little steps and effort that count, that will have a huge impact on the future of our planet.

Here’s to reduced carbon and zero waste travel 👊

Love seeing so many posts about the little steps we can take as individuals to reduce plastic for plastic-free July, but equally sad about the fact that despite so many posting about it or complaining about politicians, there’s a silly number of people in town with plastic bags or at festivals with plastic pint cups or in supermarkets with fruit or veg wrapped in an unnecessary amount of plastic. I don’t do as much as I can but I do:

1. Grow a little of my own (created space on our drive for it and hubby is currently outside building more planters) and what I don’t have, I buy and take my own containers and bags
2. I always and I mean always even when I’m on a walk with no intention of buying anything have my gold-away carrier with me which comes in so handy...
3. Always take my own pewter pot to any open-air events (you can pick them up engraved - fab gift! - or at charity shops).
4. Buy most of my dry food from the zerowaste shop People often tell me they don’t have time. Nor do I. I usually take my trolley along but otherwise even if you live more than 40 mins drive away from a zerowaste shop, why not do it once a month (they are open late on a Thursday).
Once you’ve taken these steps and I know many do so much more 🙏 then post away, spread the word, and then if you feel the need, you’re in a much more credible authoritative position to demand political change... 🤞

Why do so many people point fingers to politicians when it comes to plastic, yet aren’t prepared to make tiny changes themselves...? I couldn’t see anyone else with own drinks containers and there was a ridiculous of plastic left at the end.

Change starts with individuals!

Stella McCartney says we shouldn't clean our clothes if we "don't absolutely have to". Is she right?
