✨️ www.broadlandhousekeeping.com Hello, I'm Liz and after a demanding career in retail and sales, I established Broadland Housekeeping in 2017. The business aims to provide a traditional style domestic cleaning and housekeeping service with a modern approach, specifically tailored to suit your individual needs. I work independently and do not use staff or sub-contractors. This means unlike some agencies and franchises, I am able to offer a dedicated and consistent boutique service to my clients, with a familiar and friendly face that you can get to know and trust.

A beautifully clean and fresh home that you can relax in and enjoy is an investment, not an expense. Whether you have a busy family home, work full-time, run your own business, are struggling to keep on top of your domestic chores or would rather not spend your free-time doing housework, I am here to help make your life easier and free up more of your precious time to do the things that you want to, rather than need to. My training and background is in cleaning luxury 5-star holiday accommodation and this is reflected in the quality of my work and the premium service I provide. I look after a truly diverse range of properties including new builds, apartments, townhouses, cottages, barn conversions, large country houses, manor houses, period and listed properties, farmhouses, caravans, houseboats and holiday lets. However big or small your home, I always aim to deliver a conscientious, professional, reliable and trustworthy service to a consistently high standard. I build good working relationships with my clients, ensuring that they know their property is in committed, safe and caring hands. The majority of my work is via referral from happy and satisfied existing clients.

I am DBS checked, fully insured, operate to high standards of health and safety, am child and pet friendly and can supply personal references from long term clients. I also hold a British Cleaning Certification Award (BCCA) qualification and am also COSHH trained and first aid/CPR trained. I always aim to work in a way that is as eco-conscious, sustainable and kind to the environment as much as I possibly can.

Taking great pride in my work and the products that I use, I supply carefully selected, high quality professional products to ensure outstanding cleaning results that are non-toxic, cruelty free, naturally based, vegan and environmentally friendly where possible. I also use the very latest cleaning materials, tools, equipment and gadgets, utilising the most innovative and up to date cleaning technology.

If you are interested in finding out more about my services, please contact me for a friendly, no obligation chat in the first instance. I will then conduct an initial consultation with you to create a customised housekeeping plan based on your cleaning requirements, budget and the end result you desire.

Thank you for visiting my page and I look forward to speaking with you soon.

High gloss floor tiles... The ultimate modern, monochromatic interior fantasy. Decadent, elegant, slightly Californian palace... You swoon over the samples, fall completely in love with them and then your builder sends that glorious little text:

"All finished"

And then you try to clean them... Welcome to hell. Streaks, smears, water marks... Every single bad decision you've ever made reflected back at you from the floor. I've tried EVERYTHING to crack the no-streak method. Steam mop? Nah. White vinegar and a brand new mop head? Nope. Rubber mop? Also nope.

Short of getting down on your hands and knees and polishing the entire bloody floor by hand, I've finally found something that works brilliantly for these types of tiles... Washing up liquid. Yep. You read that right. I use a spray mop with a fresh, flat mop head - not one of the fluffy, soft ones. And don't wash your mop head in detergent because you'll just put more residue back onto the floor. Hot wash and vinegar is your friend.

Then add a tiny dash of Ecover washing up liquid mixed with water, spray lightly (you do NOT want to soak the floor) and then buff, buff, buff. The less product and water you can get away with, the better. And once you've got those beautiful, streak free tiles looking like a million pounds? Never walk on them again. Obviously.

Have you found this tip helpful? What other eco-friendly cleaning tips would you like me to share? I've got years of obsessive cleaning experiments stored in my brain for you to reap the benefits of. Because God knows my own house doesn't 😂

What a week 🥵

AI might be able to do many things, but it still can't do my job - and frankly after a week of cleaning in this heat, I'm not sure I'd recommend it.

Heatwaves make an already physical job SO much harder. I am hot, sweaty, tired and approximately 3% human. So, in the spirit of keeping things professional:

F**k data centres.
F**k Meta.
F**k OpenAI.
F**k Elon Musk.

Throw the lot into the sun.

Anyway. Back to the cleaning. Like the Victorian woman I apparently was born to be.

Hands up who lives for a bit of colour… 🙋‍♀️

Because HOW decadent is this purple?! Absolutely glorious. Give me a bold colour and a slightly bonkers interior and I'm a very happy cleaner.

This week hasn't just been up the wall - it's been up Snowdon! I've got a backlog of messages to work through, including some lovely new client enquiries, so if you're waiting for a reply from me, I promise I haven't forgotten you!

I'll be catching up with everyone later when I finally get a tea break. Thank you as always for your patience, kindness and support. It genuinely means the world.

Another day, another oven… Swipe to see the before and after.

This one is a 'self-cleaning oven' and I honestly couldn't tell you how many of these I've cleaned over the years. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! That little self-cleaning function doesn't mean you can wave goodbye to grease, baked-on food and all the other grimness that accumulates over time.

So, it got the full Broadland Housekeeping treatment. And yes, it was all cleaned using my usual natural products. Because apparently even a self-cleaning oven occasionally needs a cleaner 🧽✨

I LOVE a coloured bathroom suite 😍

A little throwback to when I cleaned my idea of absolute heaven. Millions of books, the sweetest cat, an avocado shell sink and beautifully preserved vintage everything. Basically, a house with personality everywhere you looked. It was an absolute joy to clean and the kind of home where you could happily spend far too long admiring all the little details.

Made this beautiful home sparkle again yesterday 🧽✨

I do love getting a little creative with a throw. I'm a big fan of that Scandi, slightly undone look. There's something about super crisp sheets with a floaty throw casually draped across the bed that makes it look so much more inviting and actually makes you want to climb straight in.

You can tell I used to be a visual merchandiser, can't you? 😂

I'm still getting lots of enquiries for 2 hour cleans, so I thought I'd explain why I no longer offer them...

I stopped offering 2 hour cleans some time ago, after giving it a LOT of thought, because quite simply, it just isn't enough time to clean a home to the high professional standard I expect from myself.

Anyone who has booked me before will know I don't exactly float around your house delicately waving a feather duster. I work HARD. By the end of a clean, I usually look like I've just completed a spin class - and that's without trying to squeeze everything into a 2 hour window!

I'm very conscious that when you book me, you're spending your hard earned money. I want to make sure you get as much value from that as possible, and that I can do the job properly rather than rushing around watching the clock.

The exception is when you only want specific rooms cleaned. I do offer shorter appointments for this, because I'm not trying to clean an entire property in the time available.

So if you only need certain rooms tackled, rather than a full house clean, please drop me a message and I'll be happy to chat about what you need 🧽✨

Good evening everyone! A slightly less cheery post from me tonight I'm afraid...

I've been having a bit of a problem lately with invoices not being paid by their due dates and as a very small business, I really do hate having to chase people for money.

I'm here to make your home lovingly sparkle - not to become a part-time debt collector. I've always tried to operate with a huge amount of goodwill and have never had to enforce my terms and conditions. But unfortunately, there comes a point where goodwill can only stretch so far.

Late payments can have a real impact on a small business, particularly when the outstanding amount is significant. So, just a little reminder that invoices are due by the date stated on them. If payment isn't received by the due date, a late payment fee may be applied in accordance with my terms and conditions.

I really don't want to move to taking payment in advance for one-off cleans but if late payments continue, that may become necessary. So please, after I've been in and made everything beautifully clean and sparkly, pop that payment through as soon as you can.

I'm a one-woman business, not a bank - and unlike a bank, I don't have a mysterious vault full of money hiding somewhere. Thank you for understanding and for supporting my small business. It genuinely means a lot ❤️

Obsessed with making towel rails look like this...

My biggest tip for getting them beautifully clean? An old flannel and some good old white vinegar. I know fresh vinegar isn't everyone's favourite fragrance but the smell disappears surprisingly quickly, and in the meantime, you've got a brilliant natural odour neutraliser that helps take unpleasant smells with it. Plus, vinegar is basically the eco-cleaning equivalent of a Swiss Army knife.

When I first started Broadland Housekeeping, I actually didn't advertise myself as an eco-friendly or vegan cleaning business. And that was very deliberate. I wanted to attract people who wouldn't necessarily be interested in an eco-friendly cleaner and then watch their faces when I told them that the sparkle they were looking at wasn't the result of drowning their bathroom in Flash and bleach. It was mostly natural, non-toxic products.

As the business has grown, I obviously do talk about the eco-friendly side of what I do, because it's a huge part of who I am and how I work. But I've never changed my original mission:

Being eco-friendly should NOT be a compromise.

I want you to walk through your front door and see a beautifully clean home. One that smells fresh, feels fantastic and has that "I've just been professionally cleaned" feeling... And it just happens to be kinder to the planet too.

So whether you're already a citric acid and bamboo cloths kind of person or you currently bleach the hell out of everything and swear by Flash... Don't worry. You're going to be very pleased with what I've done 🧽✨

I am officially SO done with summer now. Give me a fruity mocktail, a good book and somewhere shady to lie down and I'm absolutely on board with the sunshine. But cleaning in it? Entirely different story.

Heat + hoovering + scrubbing + several thousand steps = a very sweaty housekeeping experience. And yes, it can really slow you down. But I don't do half-hearted. I would much rather be working a little later and doing the job properly than rushing around trying to beat the clock and leaving things that aren't quite up to my standards.

If I'm cleaning your home, I'm aiming for that everything is just so feeling. So roll on crisp mornings, cosy jumpers and the blessed return of sensible cleaning temperatures. Autumn, I am ready for you 🍂
