Recognising the next generation 👏

At Heb Group, we believe it’s important to recognise the people who are making a real impact across the business, and recently Callum Hill has been highlighted internally for the attitude, effort, and progression he has shown throughout his apprenticeship journey.

From day one, Callum has approached every opportunity with the right mindset, showing a willingness to learn, develop, and get stuck in across the business. The feedback from the team around his work ethic and attitude has been incredibly positive, and it’s great to see the progress he continues to make.

Investing in apprenticeships and developing future talent remains a huge part of what we do as a business. It’s important that young people are given the opportunity, support, and environment to grow, and equally important that their hard work is recognised along the way.

Well done Callum, keep up the good work 👏

Great to have George Fretwell-Walker with us over the last two weeks completing his work experience placement with our People, Brand & Responsibility team at Heb Group.

During his time with us, George gained an insight into the day-to-day running of a people-powered business, spending time learning more about branding, communications, internal culture, and how different teams across the group work together to support the wider business.

At Heb Group, we believe work experience placements are an important way of helping young people build confidence, gain practical experience, and better understand the wide range of career opportunities available within our industry. Supporting future talent through placements, apprenticeships, and local engagement remains a big part of who we are as a business.

A big thank you to George for all of his effort and enthusiasm over the last two weeks, we wish him all the best for the future.

We’re currently looking to appoint a Group Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join Heb Group.

This is a key role within the business, supporting the delivery of health, safety, environmental, and compliance standards across our Mechanical & Electrical, Facilities Management, Cleaning & Hygiene + Security divisions.

At Heb Group, health and safety is more than compliance. It’s embedded into how we operate across every project, site, and team. We’re looking for someone who shares that mindset and can help drive continuous improvement across the group as we continue to grow.

The role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of sectors and live operational environments, supporting projects and services delivered from our Sheffield, Doncaster, Leeds, and Northwest teams.

If you’re an experienced HS&E professional looking to join a people powered business with over 100 years of history, we’d love to hear from you.

Behind every successful project is a strong working relationship 🤝

That’s something we’re proud to continue building with GMI Construction across a number of live developments throughout the region.

From Foss Islands Student Accommodation in York to the Freshney Place Shopping Centre redevelopment in Grimsby, our Leeds and Sheffield teams are currently working closely alongside GMI to help deliver these schemes safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

What makes partnerships like this work is the people behind them. Open communication, trust on site, and teams pulling in the same direction make a huge difference on fast moving projects, especially across large, multi-team developments.

It’s great to be working with a contractor that shares the same mindset around collaboration, quality, and delivery, and we’re looking forward to continuing that relationship as these projects progress.

Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that sometimes the most important conversations are the ones we don’t always see happening.

Construction, engineering, FM and cleaning can be fast-paced, high-pressure industries, and it’s important that people know they don’t have to deal with things on their own.

At Heb Group, we’re continuing to build a culture where looking after mental wellbeing is treated with the same importance as physical safety. That means encouraging open conversations, checking in with each other, and making sure support is there when people need it.

Alongside the awareness work being highlighted this week by organisations, we’re also proud to have trained Mental Health First Aiders across the business, people our teams can speak to confidentially if they’re struggling, feeling overwhelmed, or simply need someone to listen.

Sometimes asking “Are you alright?” can make more difference than you realise.

No one should suffer in silence.

Some of the best people in our business are the ones who quietly turn up every day, get stuck in, support the people around them, and help keep everything moving.

Recently, we had the chance to recognise four members of the Heb Group team who have now surpassed 10 years with the business; Ryan Johnson, Bradley Hawkins, Jamie Tetley, and Ian Stoddart.

Between them, they’ve played a huge part in the growth of Heb Group over the years through their hard work, commitment, knowledge, and leadership. They’re the people working behind the scenes, solving problems, supporting teams, and helping deliver for our clients every single day. Our true Everyday Heroes!

In an industry built on trust and relationships, having people who have dedicated over a decade to the business means a great deal, and we’re incredibly proud to celebrate this milestone with them.

Thank you Ryan, Bradley, Jamie, and Ian for everything you continue to do for Heb Group. 👏

A damaged roof or broken glazing rarely stays a “small problem” for long. 🔧

Even minor building fabric issues can quickly lead to disruption, safety concerns, operational downtime, and costly long-term damage if they’re not dealt with quickly and properly.

At Heb Group, our Facilities Management teams deliver responsive and planned building fabric repairs that help keep buildings protected, operational, and fit for purpose.

From roofing and glazing repairs to doors, flooring, drainage, joinery, and wider fabric maintenance, we support clients with practical solutions that minimise disruption and extend the life of their buildings.

Because maintaining the fabric of a building is about more than appearance — it’s about protecting the people, assets, and operations inside it. 🏢

What happens when the essentials run out? 🧼

Empty washrooms, missing consumables, and inconsistent hygiene standards can quickly impact more than just appearance. They affect staff wellbeing, customer experience, compliance, and the day-to-day performance of a building.

That’s why at Heb Group, we go beyond cleaning.

Our Cleaning & Hygiene Supplies service helps organisations stay fully stocked, safe, and operational with everything from janitorial products and washroom consumables to specialist hygiene solutions and equipment. 📦

Whether it’s a school, healthcare environment, office, industrial facility, or public space, having the right supplies in place helps create environments where people feel safe, comfortable, and ready to perform at their best.

Because the products behind the scenes often make the biggest difference.

Supporting Leeds’ Growth with High-Rise Residential Delivery

We’ve recently completed the full mechanical and electrical installation at the Saxton Lane development in Leeds, delivering 207 apartments across a high-rise structure that forms part of the city’s wider regeneration.

Working alongside United Infrastructure and Vico Homes, our role covered the coordination, installation, and commissioning of all building services across both residential units and communal areas.

High-rise residential schemes demand a high level of coordination, particularly when it comes to managing service routes, risers, and plant space within a vertical structure. From early design stages through to final handover, our focus was on ensuring all systems were fully integrated, compliant, and aligned with programme requirements.

Mechanical and electrical installations were delivered to support consistent performance across the building, with all systems fully tested and commissioned ahead of occupation to ensure they operate as intended from day one.

The development also contributes to the regeneration of a previously underutilised site, creating a high-quality residential environment within the city centre.

A strong collaborative effort across the project team and a great result for everyone involved.
Craig Fletcher, Senior Contracts Manager, commented:

“The Saxton Lane development is a great example of what can be achieved through strong collaboration and a clear focus on delivery. High rise residential schemes bring their own challenges, but by working closely with the design and construction teams, we’ve been able to deliver a building that performs as it should from day one. It’s a project we’re proud to have been part of, supporting both the regeneration of Leeds and the delivery of high-quality, affordable homes.”

Adapting to change in building services isn’t optional, it’s essential.

From new technologies to evolving regulations and the growing demand for decarbonisation, the pace of change across our industry is accelerating. For businesses, that creates risk. For the right partner, it creates opportunity.

At Heb Group, innovation isn’t about theory, it’s about delivery across every part of your building.

From Mechanical & Electrical design and installation, to Facilities Management, specialist Cleaning & Hygiene services, and our growing focus on Renewables & Decarbonisation, we support the full lifecycle of your building, ensuring it remains safe, compliant, efficient, and ready for what’s next.

Because adapting to change doesn’t happen in silos.

It requires joined-up thinking, where systems, compliance, maintenance, sustainability, and environment all work together.

That’s where a full service approach makes the difference.

We’ve shared our perspective on how businesses can stay ahead in a rapidly changing industry and what to look for in a partner who can support that journey.
