🐶 Urine accidents don't just sit on the surface...

One of the biggest misconceptions about pet urine is that if the stain has disappeared, the problem has gone too.

In reality, urine often soaks right through the carpet, into the underlay and sometimes even the subfloor beneath. Standard carpet cleaning can improve the surface, but it can't always reach contamination that's deep below.

That's where sub-surface extraction comes in.

Using specialist equipment, we can flush and extract urine contamination from beneath the carpet, removing far more of the urine, odour-causing bacteria, and contamination trapped in the underlay. This process is designed to treat the source of the problem, not just the symptoms.

Managing Expectations

One of the most important parts of my job as a carpet cleaner isn't actually the cleaning itself—it's managing expectations.
Now, don't get me wrong. Professional carpet cleaning can achieve some fantastic results.
We can remove a huge amount of dirt, improve the appearance of your carpets, eliminate many stains, and leave your home feeling fresher and cleaner.
But it's important to understand that not every carpet will come up looking brand new.
Over time, carpets suffer from wear and tear. Heavy foot traffic can cause fibres to become permanently worn down, furniture can leave indentations, and some stains can actually damage or permanently dye the carpet fibres. Unfortunately, no amount of cleaning can reverse physical damage.

That's why when I arrive at a job, I'll always inspect the carpet first and discuss any areas of concern. If I see a stain that may not come out completely, or areas that are heavily worn, I'll tell you before I start. I'd much rather be honest from the beginning than make promises I can't keep.
Professional carpet cleaning is about achieving the best possible result for the condition of the carpet. Sometimes that result can be absolutely transformative. Other times, it might simply mean a cleaner, fresher, more hygienic carpet with some permanent marks still remaining.
I believe good communication is just as important as good cleaning. By understanding what can realistically be achieved, everyone is happy with the outcome and there are no surprises at the end.
So if you're considering having your carpets cleaned, ask questions, point out any concerns, and don't be afraid to have an honest conversation about the results you can expect.
A reputable carpet cleaner will always give you realistic expectations, not just tell you what you want to hear.
