A rat problem finally solved at the source.

This customer had already used other pest control companies, but the problem kept coming back.

We spent around two hours investigating the property and identified the likely entry point — the drainage system.

After carrying out the initial treatment, we returned 10 days later and confirmed there was no further activity. We then installed a one-way rat valve to prevent rats using the drainage pipe to regain access to the property.

The customer’s words say it best:

“I wish I had appointed them earlier, as the other pest companies I employed previously didn’t solve the problem at the source.”

That’s exactly what we aim to do at Bugwise: investigate properly, identify how pests are getting in and, where possible, deal with the source rather than just the symptoms.

🛏️ Inspect the bed frame and headboard.
👀 Have a look around the skirting boards.

After dealing with enough bed bug infestations over the years, it’s become second nature.

The last thing I want is to bring home some unwanted holiday souvenirs! 😅

Thankfully this room passed the inspection, so I can finally unpack and enjoy the holiday.

Asian Hornets: What Should You Do If You Spot One?

Asian hornets have been making headlines across the UK due to the threat they pose to honey bees and other pollinators.

While they are not yet widespread, early reporting is important to help prevent them from becoming established.

If you think you have seen an Asian hornet:

• Do not approach or disturb it
• Avoid disturbing any suspected nest
• Take a clear photograph if it is safe to do so
• Make a note of the location
• Report the sighting through the official channels

Asian hornets are generally darker than native hornets, with yellow legs and a distinctive orange band on the abdomen.
