Japan in seven frames 🇯🇵

From Tokyo’s skyline to Kyoto’s quiet backstreets, Osaka’s neon glow, Nara’s wandering deer and the floating torii gate of Miyajima — this trip was everything I hoped it would be and more.

Every stop felt completely different. Some places were loud, bright and chaotic. Others were calm, traditional and almost cinematic. That’s what made Japan so special for me — you can go from city lights to bamboo forests, castles, shrines and mountain views in the space of a few days.

I couldn't decide where to start with all the content from Japan, so I decided to start with one photo from every stop. Thank you to Urth for gifting me some filters for my Sony A7CII. The ND was my go to but the night filter was so much fun in the cities.

Google maps doesn't really work in Venice, you check your location and it shows you several streets away from where you actually stand. But that's a good thing. If you know the general direction you need to go, you'll find what you need along with beautiful side streets along the way.

It's a busy city, but far away from anything I'm used to. It's a city that instead of sirens, beeping cars, or the sounds of construction instead it's filled with people talking, making plans and living.

Will you be exploring Venice in 2026? VeniceItaly

This is the Bridge of Sighs in Venice, Italy, and one of my favourite photos I took on my trip.

Legend has it that this bridge earned its name from the prisoners who would catch one last glimpse of beautiful Venice and sigh before being led to their cells. Honestly? Seeing this view, I’m sighing too—or I'm just struggling for breath from the combination of Gelato I've inhaled and bridges I've had to climb. 🇮🇹

Sorry, but I did not want to crop this to 1x1, even if it did fit on the tiles better. I loved the colour of Venice. Why can't English towns have buildings that are colourful like this?

📍Ai Barbacani Restaurant, Venice

Tucked away in a quiet corner of Venice, Ai Barbacani is the definition of authentic Venetian charm 🇮🇹

Think candle-lit tables by the canal, handmade pasta, fresh Adriatic seafood, and a panna cotta that melts in every bite. No tourist traps — just real, traditional flavours and an unforgettable atmosphere.

The canal side table has to be my favourite seat in the world. What do you think? Where can you find your perfect restaurant table?

If you’re visiting Venice, this hidden gem is a must-book. Save this for your Italy trip 🤍

Tell me — where in the world is your perfect table? ✨

Had these taken on a photowalk with .art on my 30th birthday in Venice. Thank you so much for taking these! Absolutely loved them, it was so great to explore Venice with another photographer and actually get some photos of myself for once! Going to try and show my face on here a little more now that I'm 30.

Ill be writing a full guide as to why you should do a photowalk in Venice on my site Bradsbackpack.com soon. And if you want to book Konstantina yourself you can do so on https://www.kyellow.photo/.

This isn't an ad (before Instagram tries to punish me) I paid for the experience myself and wasn't paid to promote it. But it was so much fun and a great way to explore Venice. I thought it was too good not to share!

Loved the Canary Wharf Winter Lights Trail this year! So many beautiful pieces of art. And it all moves or flashes so it can hold my attention for more than 30 seconds. My first year I saw the giant globe in the Wharf, and that's always been my favourite. So really glad to see planets return, even if they were a bit smaller in Crossrail Roof Garden!

Did you visit? And are you hoping they return in 2027?

I thought I'd share some of my favourite photos from Kew Gardens, considering I've uploaded my guide to the gardens on BradsBackpack.com. Did have a few others I wanted to share but they didnt fit the ratio and Instagram doesn't feel like bejng flexibke today. But luckily you can read my guide and find it all there 😉

This was my first time here, and it was fantastic. I got a rare London summer day, with good weather! I had the day off so it wasnt too busy. I just wished I planned ahead a little smarter and made a picnic as its the perfect place for one.

Check out my site, BradsBackpack.com, to read the full guide and see all the photos there! You can find a link in my bio.

Appreciate this is a little close to the wire on World Photography day, I actually tried to post this earlier but instagram failed. So really its on them

Even i couldnt let it go by without posting. So heres a collectjln of some of my fabourite images over the years. Some i took hears back in Singapore and Iceland, others more recent in Croaita. Its interesting for me to see how my editing has changed. Did I edit for the scene or has my style changed as i learned more? Id be interested to go back and redit somr old files and see how they differ. I still love my old work, but I can see how I'd improve.

Photography is so important to me though. Its how I destress. Sometimes it can feel a bit much, and we all have challenves. But going out with a camera. Either in the city or country for a long walk, alone or with friends, helps me reset. I cant wait to see how things change and what ill be doing different with my camera next year. I'll never stop learning, and thats what I love about it.

Writing some of my latest articles is giving me the chance to go back over old photos I've taken. I really love these, but I can't help but wonder how I would do them differently next time.

Still I loved exploring Arco Da Rua Augusta. It's a beautiful square, and although I visited over Christmas and it's now Feb but I loved the last photo too much not to include it 😍

Who has been to Lisbon? And did you visit the square? Read about my stories from Lisbon on Bradsbackpack.com
