We have a vacancy in the Wiltshire / Hampshire & Berkshire area for a Commercial Pest Control Technician. The role will involve servicing a number of our customers within the Food Manufacturing and allied industries. For example, large flour mills and cereal manufacturer sites.
Our preference is for the applicant to have experience in pest control, preferably BPCA Level 2, although this is not necessary since full training can / will be given.
Training is ongoing for any applicant, both in-house and with external courses / certification. The successful applicant would have a strong network of support in place with technical officers / Biologists and area managers always available to help and support.
Strong problem solving abilities will be needed, as many of our clients operate under unique conditions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. The successful applicant must carry out their work to the highest standards.
Above all, this job presents an opportunity to work in the most interesting and challenging areas of our industry, within a company that provides the highest standards of quality service.
The position is a full time role with a basic salary (assuming at least BPCA Level 2) of between £24,000 to £30,000 PA dependent on experience and other relevant qualifications

Wasps get a lot of bad press but they are important pollinators and control insect pests in gardens. It tends to be later in the summer when they become more of a nuisance to humans. In a commercial setting they can cause issues for staff working around areas with sugar / sugar spillages as well as potentially contaminating food products.

Beautiful wasp nest found in my garden today, hanging in a quince bush. The queen was out defending the nest when I first disturbed it but was back inside by the time I had got my camera. The nest is still very young with what is probably the first brood of workers seen here.

The General Licenses issued by Natural England have been revoked and the species of pest birds cannot now be removed without the application for individual licenses.
