Portsmouth Pride will return on Saturday 12 June 2027, on Castle Field.

‼️ THINK BEFORE YOU LITTER! ‼️

Thanks to the din who smashed a glass wine bottle at the seafront, yesterday, our poor dog Gino got an injured foot.

We were having what was a lovely morning walk along Southsea promenade, before it got too hot, and Gino jumped into the grass, where there was a whole smashed glass bottle. His poor back foot got cut and was gushing with blood.

Thankfully my amazing sister Josette happened to be in the area and we jumped into her car and had to immediately go to the vet, where he was sedated to have stitches on the back of his paw.

What should have been a joyful morning, turned into a nightmare day where our dog needlessly suffered! His treatment left us with a £450 bill (we have pet insurance, but that’s not the point) and the shocking thing was, the area where the glass was, was where were playing with our daughter just last week. It could have easily have been her that fell into the glass and badly hurt self and we could have been in A&E with a toddler instead.

Yesterday was an absolute nightmare of a day and is all down to the selfish and thoughtless behaviour of some who don’t think about how their litter affects dogs, wildlife, children or any other pedestrian for that matter. It is absolutely infuriating.

Of course everyone should enjoy our lovely seafront, especially in summer, but *PLEASE DON’T BE A DIN AND PUT YOUR RUBBISH IN THE BIN*!

Thank you and congratulations to Lucky, Mala, Steve and the whole Chat Over Chai team for a lovely afternoon tea to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Diabetes Group.

It was so heartwarming to hear all of the powerful testimonials from group members about how their lives had been transformed thanks to the work of the group and the supportive community Chat Over Chai has built.

Thank you for the delicious food too - it was a South Asian inspired high tea and was very special indeed! 🥰

Due to the Amber heat health alert, all waste collection rounds will start earlier next week so our crews can avoid working in the hottest part of the day.

Please:
- Put your bins out by 6am on your collection day, or
- Put them out after 7pm the night before

The Amber heat health alert means there is a risk to health, particularly for older people, young children and those with existing health conditions.
