The Role
We are seeking a motivated Drainage Engineer to join our growing operational team. You will represent Metro Rod on customer sites, providing a high standard of technical service while maintaining safety, compliance, and excellent customer care. You will attend reactive callouts, planned maintenance visits, and scheduled works.
Key Responsibilities
• Attend blockage and drainage issues across the region
• Use high-pressure water jetting (HPWJ) equipment to clear and restore flow
• Operate CCTV survey equipment and produce accurate reports (WinCan / cloud based)
• Conduct repair works including patch lining, excavation and reinstatement (where required)
• Support tanker operations including gully emptying, interceptor cleaning, desilting and waste transfer (if qualified)
• Complete job sheets, photos, RAMS compliance, and customer paperwork accurately
• Uphold Metro Rod’s service standards and Health & Safety policies
• Participate in the on-call rota to support 24/7 emergency coverage
Skills & Experience (Desirable)
• Previous experience in drainage, plumbing, utilities, waste management, or groundworks a distinct advantage but full training will be provided.
• HPWJ certification / experience
• Confined Space certification
• Streetworks Signing, Lighting, Gaurding (NRSWA)
• CSCS Card
• HGV Class 2 / Tanker experience (advantage but not essential)
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
• Customer service and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
