🐶🐈‍⬛ THE SPOOKY SIDE OF PET BODY LANGUAGE! 👀

Halloween might be all about tricks, treats and things that go bump in the night… but can you tell when your furry friend is feeling a little spooked? 😱🐾

Our pets can’t tell us when something is frightening them, but their body language can speak volumes! 💜

🐶 DOGS – SIGNS THEY MIGHT BE SPOOKED:
👻 Tucking their tail between their legs
🎃 Ears pinned back
🕷️ Excessive lip licking or yawning
🐾 Trembling, pacing or trying to hide
👀 Showing the whites of their eyes

🐱 CATS – SIGNS THEY MIGHT BE SPOOKED:
🦇 Flattened ears
👻 Puffing up their fur or tail
🎃 Hissing, growling or hiding
🐈‍⬛ Crouching low to the ground
👀 Wide eyes and enlarged pupils

💜 HOW CAN YOU HELP?

🏡 Provide somewhere quiet and safe to retreat.

🐾 Never force interactions with unfamiliar people or Halloween decorations.

💕 Allow your pet to approach things at their own pace.

🎃 Keep their usual routines as normal as possible.

✨ REMEMBER: A frightened pet isn’t being naughty. They’re communicating that something doesn’t feel right.

Four gorgeous furry friends, one lovely day of companionship and plenty of paws to keep Kelli busy! 🥰🐾

Kelli has been spending some quality time with the wonderful Echo, Jaffa, PixZee and Bailiff, making sure everyone received lots of love, attention and care throughout their day sit! 💕

From keeping up with their daily routines to enjoying some quality companionship, it’s all about making sure every member of the furry family feels happy, comfortable and cared for in their own home. 🏡✨

With four different personalities to look after, there’s certainly never a dull moment! 🤭🐾

Say hello to Alfie, one of the newest members of the Paws at Home family! 🥰🐾

Kelli had a lovely day sit with this sweet little boy, making sure he had plenty of company, comfort and care throughout the day. From enjoying a gentle walk and some fresh air 🌤️🐕 to relaxing back at home in his cosy bed, Alfie had a lovely mix of exercise, companionship and rest.

Just look at that adorable little face! 😍 He has already stolen our hearts 💙

🎃🐾 PAWS AT HOME’S SPOOKY SEASON – DAY 23! 👻

🍬 TRICK OR TREAT? HALLOWEEN PET MYTHS! 🐶🐈‍⬛

Halloween is full of spooky stories and superstitions, but how many of these pet myths have you heard? 👀🕸️

🐈‍⬛ Black cats bring bad luck!
👻 TRICK! Black cats are just as loving, playful and wonderful as any other cat. Their spooky reputation is nothing more than superstition!

🐶 Dogs only see in black and white!
👻 TRICK! Dogs can see colours, particularly shades of blue and yellow!

🐱 Cats always land on their feet!
👻 TRICK! Although cats have an incredible righting reflex, they can still fall awkwardly and suffer serious injuries.

🎃 Pumpkin is poisonous to dogs!
🍬 TRICK! Plain, cooked pumpkin can be a suitable treat for many dogs in small amounts. Just avoid added sugar, spices and other unsuitable ingredients!

🐾💗 Walkies & Puppy Companionship with Biscuit! 🐶☀️

Our gorgeous Biscuit has been enjoying some lovely one-to-one time with Kelli! 🥰🐾

First up was a wonderful walk in the sunshine, with plenty of opportunities to explore, sniff along the grassy edges and investigate all those exciting outdoor smells! 🌿🍂

Back home, the fun didn’t stop! 🎾💕 Biscuit enjoyed some playtime with her favourite tennis balls, lots of attention and, of course, plenty of cuddles!

Just look at that adorable little face! 🥹😍

Our puppy companionship visits are all about providing a lovely balance of exercise, enrichment, playtime and affection while their families are away. 🏡🐕

🐾💜 Bruno’s Walkies with Kelli! 🐶☀️

Our handsome little Bruno was out enjoying some fresh air and sunshine with Kelli! 🥰🐕

From having a good old sniff in the hedges 🍂 to exploring his surroundings and taking in all the interesting smells, Bruno was making the most of his walkies! 🐾

And of course, we couldn’t resist capturing that adorable little face! 📸💜

🎃 Spooky Season – Day 22 👻🐾

Peggy has found the perfect little Halloween photo spot 😍🎃

She was looking very cute posing in front of her mum’s pumpkin decorations — although we’re not entirely convinced she was as interested in the photo as she was in everything else going on around her 😂🐶

🐾 Lissy’s Overnight Stay with Skyler & Bella 🐾

Lissy had a lovely overnight stay with gorgeous Skyler and Bella 🥰

Skyler made herself very comfortable, enjoying plenty of cuddles, fuss and some very relaxed bed time 😂🐶 She also enjoyed a lovely walk with lots of time to sniff and explore, followed by a bit of playtime back at home — especially when her favourite toys came out!

Bella was her usual beautiful self, happily pottering around and settling in for some cosy time too 🐱💕 She certainly knows how to pose for the camera!

Overnight stays are all about keeping pets comfortable in their own home, sticking to their usual routine and making sure they have plenty of company, care and reassurance while their owners are away 🏡🐾

Such a lovely stay with these two 💚

We’re pleased to announce that our pet care management software is now fully operational again! 🎉🐶🐱

After experiencing some unexpected technical difficulties earlier today, we’re happy to confirm that access to our booking system and client portal has now been restored.

❤️ What does this mean for our lovely clients?

🐾 Our booking system is back online.

🐾 Client portals are accessible again.

🐾 Booking requests and enquiries can be managed as normal.

🐾 We’re back to business as usual!

🎃 Spooky Season – Day 21 👻🐾

Ever bought your cat a lovely new bed… only for them to choose the cardboard box instead? 😂📦

Cats often love boxes because they can feel:
• Safe and enclosed
• Warm and cosy
• Hidden from view
• Perfect for watching everything without being seen
• Great for pouncing out when you least expect it 👀

So if your cat disappears into a box this spooky season… they’re probably not summoning anything mysterious — just enjoying their favourite hiding spot 😅🐱
