We’ve just launched five new coffees on the web shop, this one is an epic natural from Ethiopia, processed at a washing station named Abore operated by a brand new partnership for us this year.

It has a really great taste profile, we found mojito, candy, blueberries, raspberry and peach. 🍑

We’re hiring! Please help us reach as many potential candidates as possible by sharing this post.

Mercanta are using the government’s Kickstarter scheme to find someone looking for a career in coffee, the role is based out of our Glasgow office.

No previous experience required we’re looking for an individual who likes coffee, is enthusiastic and organised and we will train them up through courses at the London School of Coffee and on the job.

Eligible applicants must be between 16 and 24 years old, in receipt of Universal Credit, and unemployed. If they are interested in the role they just need to contact their work coach directly and ask to be referred. They will need to quote the name of our business and the job title which is Assistant.

The salary will be the Real Living Wage for 25 hours per week spread across Monday-Friday.

Earlier this year we cupped through tons of Kenyan samples that had been through the auctions and this one really stood out to us for its brightness and complexity and so we brought some over to share with you all.

Unlike a lot of Kenyan coffees we buy this one is from a single estate which was established 67 years ago. We found AA’s were really popping this year although in some years the ABs cup higher overall, these letters refer to the size of the bean in case you didn’t know that already.

Cupping is at the foundation of our business, every coffee we offer has been carefully selected by our experienced team for its diversity, quality and overall tastyness and then QC’d at numerous stages along its journey from the farm so you can feel confident if ordering without sampling that you’ll get something delicious.

However we also believe cupping is empowering, educational and drives the industry forward so we make samples of everything available on our webshop, order as many as you like, differences are more pronounced with a comparator!
