It’s been a while since I last posted on Landshapes, and I wanted to share a small but important change in direction.
Over the past year I’ve found myself spending more time outdoors and working hands-on with people and their land – and I’ve really loved it. As a result, I’m moving away from the drawing board and focusing more on practical, on-site support.
I’m now offering:

Property and garden maintenance

Help on the land and general outdoor projects

Occasional house and pet sitting

If you’re looking for reliable, practical help to care for your property, garden or smallholding – or simply an extra pair of hands to get things done – I’d love to hear from you.
It’s been a refreshing change to work directly with the land and the people who care for it, and I’m excited to continue in this direction.

Another Garden designer and Landscaper collaboration.

This is a Full wrap around the house garden design, including a heated boot room, Garden room and Outside kitchen bar area and fire pit area.

As you can see from the photos there is a lot of attention to detail and thought with the levels, angles, flow, drainage, also re purposing of some materials.
There was a lot of natural Indian stone that was lifted, This has been carefully cleaned up cut and used as decorative retaining walls held in place with gabion cages and capped with deck top.

Hoping for a better run of weather to be able to complete the hard landscape and begin the phased planting with Anna.

This project came to my attention towards the end of 2021. I can say it has been a challenging one. We started with a plot of land, and some architect's drawings and no defined levels to work with.
The garden was to be started and worked on at the same time as the house build due to access issues.
From the start the guys on the ground were presented with with nearly every site and weather challenge possible. They persevered to bring the garden to reality.

A couple of weeks ago I went back with Anna to look at the garden and decide on the last phase of planting which will be happening very soon. I was delighted to see that the clients were really happy with the garden and the house connected together. I am looking forward to seeing the garden when the plants are established and soften the hard landscape.

Great job Regener8 Legendary Landscapes and Anna. Thank you for all of your work to achieve another great garden.

Raindrops keep falling on my head.... 🌧⛈🌧🌬💨❄️A week ago Anna Ingram my planting specialist colleague and I went to Teignmouth on another cold and stormy day to visit the clients and the team on site.

I am again really pleased with the level of skill, commitment and attention to detail.
Another one to watch this space for updates.

Spring is here..... 🤩

This was a pleasant surprise, on a stormy day, high winds and really strong north winds coming across Lyme bay. This is the first sign of the 1000 bulbs which were planted in this garden.

I was there for the next stage planting meeting which is due to be planted very soon.
While I was there I was feeling so proud to have had such a great team, who worked through every challenge possible and weather system.
Well done to Legendary Landscapes and Regener8 for skilfully constructing the garden which is high up on the list of logistically challenging gardens to design, and build.
Also to Anna Ingram my planting colleague for softening the hard landscape and bringing a design to life.

The Yin and Yang Garden

The Brief

To create a beautiful usable space, that wasn't like other gardens in the area. With a mix of modern and traditional methods, a small lawn, seating and an area to barbeque and dine, with a nod to the Chinese heritage and to encourage insects and birds. The garden was slightly sloped, with an inconveniently placed inspection chamber.

As you can see from the photos, there has been quite a transformation from the initial meeting and site survey, plans and sketches. When I walked into the garden after Chris (Clipper Landscaping) let me know that they were finished, I was blown away with the way it looked and felt, not to mention the quality of the work. It was like walking into a show garden.

Needless to say, the clients are delighted with the finished garden.

It was early summer 2022 the Ying and Yang design was completed. It was Mid February when I was contacted by both the client and the Landscaper to let me know that this Garden was going to be constructed.

I was delighted to hear from Chris Clipper Landscaping to let me know that he would be doing this project.
Chris was one of the first Garden Landscapers I met when I moved back to Torbay 16 years ago.

I have seen the photos of this project now. It looks amazing!
