A look back at Salon Privé 2026.
Last weekend we brought six very different cars from the BOXD collection to Blenheim Palace for Salon Privé.
From the beautifully original 1961 Volkswagen Beetle ‘Beryl’ and a VW Karmann Cabriolet reimagined by Memminger, through to the Porsche 993 Turbo S, Bentley T1 Drophead Coupé and two very special SLR McLarens.
Quite a varied line-up, but then that is rather the point.
For us, the weekend was about much more than simply putting cars on display. It was an opportunity to spend time with clients and friends, catch up with familiar faces from across the collector-car world and, most importantly, see some wonderful cars being used and enjoyed.
The weekend then became rather more special when two of the six cars we brought were selected as Concours de Vente finalists.
The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren HDK Roadster made the final alongside the 1967 Bentley T1 Drophead Coupé, with the Bentley coming remarkably close to taking the honours.
A fantastic few days at Blenheim and a lovely reflection of what BOXD is really about: interesting cars, great people and looking after collections that are there to be enjoyed.
