Siniyon Environmental & Pest Control Services have been inundated with Rats in Garden calls this week
Please help us to help you.
Check for Holes around your Garden Fence if you think they are already there.
Eliminate Food Sources Secure compost: Never add cooked food, meat, or dairy to compost heaps. Use a sealed compost bin or fit heavy-duty mesh at the bottom to prevent rats from burrowing in.Manage bird feeders: Rats love birdseed. Hang feeders well away from walls or fences, use a squirrel baffle to block climbing, and only put out as much food as birds will eat in a day. Clean up any fallen seed from the ground immediately.Clean up produce: Pick fallen fruit from trees promptly and never leave pet food outdoors overnight.
Remove Hiding Spots & Shelter Tidy the yard: Rats are secretive and thrive under cover. Clear away loose bricks, lumber piles, and overgrown vegetation, especially near shed perimeters or fences.Maintain the lawn: Keep grass mown short and trim hedges, as rats prefer to move around under the cover of longer grass or dense bushes.Block entry points: Check for holes or gaps around outbuildings, sheds, and under decking. Seal them using steel wool or sturdy wire mesh (like chicken wire).
Cut off Water SuppliesFix leaks: Rats need a reliable water source. Repair dripping garden taps, clear out stagnant puddles, and keep water butts tightly covered.
