Afternoon everyone!

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend 🙂

Some of you may already know that I am a founding member of a local Community Allotment, based in Eastwood.

We are soon going to be starting educational sessions on growing your own veg and creating a sustainable and safe space for nature and wildlife. So if you could give our small group a follow I would be incredibly grateful, as the more people we can reach, the better.

We not only offer educational sessions, we also give the food that we grow to local charities and food banks 👍🏻

So please give us a follow so that you can stay updated on our progress and feel free to drop us a message if you would like to bring your kids along to one of our sessions!

Thank you in advance!

Ant

Morning!

I’ve had a lot of new customers lately, many of which have come over thanks to a referral from one of my current customers.

If you refer someone and they sign up for regular window cleaning, then make sure to let me know, so that I can repay your kindness with a discount on your next clean (or some chocolate if you prefer!).

Reputation and word of mouth is so important for growing my business, and I’m always super grateful to anyone that is talking positively about my business on social media or tagging me in posts! ❤️

Hope you all have a great day!

Fancy getting your next window clean for free?

If you recommend Ant’s Window Cleaning to a family member or friend and they sign up for regular 4-weekly cleans, then your next clean is completely free of charge!

If you are sick of looking at your neighbour’s dirty windows, but you are too nice to tell them outright, then why not mention in passing how good your window cleaner is and offer to give them my contact info? 👀

You no longer have to see their algae covered window frames every day and you save yourself some money as a bonus! It’s a win win! 👌🏻

I am also currently offering facia and gutter* washes, so why not get your house sparkling clean ready for the spring?

Comment below or drop me a message for a quote.

Also, if you were pleased with the last clean I did and you get a spare 2 minutes, I’m always incredibly grateful for any customer reviews left on my profile!

* I can’t currently offer full gutter emptying (leaves etc), but I will be investing in a gutter vac over the summer hopefully.

A thorough clean done on a conservatory for a customer yesterday.

Now it’s looking lovely ready for the spring coming and with it, hopefully some nicer weather! ☀️

If the guttering and facias on your house or conservatory are covered in dirt or algae, drop me a message to arrange a quote for getting them looking sparkling clean again!

Prices vary depending on the size of the house / conservatory and the time and water required to clean them, however I will always do my best to keep the price under £100 and as low as I possibly can 👍🏻

*The average price for facia and gutter washes is usually around £70 but will be lower if it’s a smaller property or there is a smaller area to clean like on the images below*

Morning,

I just wanted to give a quick reminder, since the rain appears to be biblical at this point and is showing no signs of stopping…

I generally choose not to clean in the rain, not because it affects the clean in any way, but simply because I don’t want to get drenched every day.

However, due to the constant rainfall we’ve been having and the fact that on forecasts it is showing no signs of stopping any time soon, I am going to have to make the decision to commit to some cleans whilst it is raining.

As I said, this has no impact on the actual cleans (I wouldn’t clean in the rain if it did), so please try to avoid cancelling your cleans due to the rain if possible.

I am always happy to come back and re-do the windows, completely free of charge, if you are not entirely satisfied with the clean, and this applies when the weather is bad as well.

As much as I love my job, I do not clean windows as a hobby, and I have to earn money to pay my bills the same as any other small business.

Luckily for me, the majority of my customers are amazing, and instead of cancelling their clean, they will pop out whilst I’m doing the clean and ask if I would like a warm drink or just check in and make sure I’m doing ok.

These small gestures have gotten me through some of the coldest and most miserable days over the winter ❤️

Hopefully the weather will improve a bit soon, and we will actually get some sunshine! But until then, please understand that I will still be offering the same high quality cleans (I will just be drenched whilst I do it..) 👍🏻

Thanks!

Story time:

I had an incident recently, where a customer signed up for 4 weekly cleans.

They asked if I could clear the algae and moss from the back of their house and conservatory. It was a huge job, but I liked the idea of a challenge and genuinely wanted to help the customer as they seemed lovely.

Over the span of two cleans, I got their house looking like new and left every window, facia, door, piece of guttering and window frame, sparkling clean. As a one off job this would have been over £100, but as a gesture of goodwill, and because reputation means more to me at this point, I included this clean in their monthly charge of £14.

I messaged the customer to confirm they were pleased with the work I had done and they said they were, but that they had spoken and decided they no longer needed regular cleans and would be in touch if and when they wanted their windows doing again… knowingly cancelling their service and therefore underpaying massively for the service they had received.

A week later I got a message from a good friend, who said ‘your brother just told me you have picked up ###XX as a customer… be careful, they will rip you off given the chance!’.

Turns out, they had done something very similar to my friend but for another service.

I know it’s all part of the job, and that some people do not think twice about taking advantage of the kindness of others, but I would be lying if I said it didn’t really upset me. I think honestly, I was more annoyed at myself for being so trusting and for allowing myself to get ripped off this way…

I think some people forget, that when you employ the services of a tradesman, this isn’t a hobby to them, they are not doing this work just because they enjoy it…. they are doing this because they have families to support and bills to pay.

Luckily, for both my confidence and my faith in humanity, 90% of my customers are absolutely lovely and I truly enjoy interacting with them and ensuring that they are pleased with the work I have done.

They pay on time, provide great feedback, refer me to friends and family, and genuinely seem to care about how my family and I are doing when we catch up.

I’m so grateful for every single one of these customers and hopefully they know who they are.

Every day they provide me with confirmation that I made the right decision when I took a risk and started this business ❤️

At 5:30am this morning I had an idea, so I’ve been in the shed since 6am testing various methods to stop the last annoying little leak… in the end, some good old electrical tape saved the day!

Now all of the tubes and cables can be tucked away and I can start work on the protective cover for the electrics (just to shelter them should a sudden leak occur on part of the filter system).

I also filled up my barrels for a couple of cleans I have this morning, before me and Alex head to Manchester for the night, and a quick test of the water shows that the water is now running at 0 parts of dirt per million, so couldn’t be better. 🥳

Being able to use my brother’s water supply has been a godsend, but I am not going to miss that nightmare trek up and down the steep drive with multiple 25kg barrels, 2-3 times a day!

After dozens of mornings, afternoons and evenings spent with my brother, (mostly laughing, but sometimes crying), we’ve somehow managed to put together a fully functional filtration system from scratch.

I truly and honestly would not have had a chance at any of this without my brother’s help, and as with so much of my time spent setting up this business, he has been pivotal in giving me advice, helping me to get stuff set up and testing ideas with me.

We filled a barrel tonight and got a sample of the water to test and it is currently running with 1 part dirt per million, which is insanely good and much lower than what is required to effectively clean windows.

There is still a lot to do, such as fixing a minor leak and some boxing off and decorating bits I need to do in there… but the main thing is that I am now running a business that is 100% self-sufficient.

Thanks to everyone that has shown support, helped me along the way or signed up as a customer, I’m more grateful than I could begin to express on this post. ❤️

Now it’s time to grow the business and to show everyone that their belief in me was well placed! 💪🏻

I recently helped my brother to complete a traditional window clean at The Hayloft pub in Giltbrook.

I really enjoy getting the opportunity to do a traditional clean 🧼

Two months in, and I’m still loving every second that I spend doing this job ❤️

Please feel free to drop me a message, if you live in Kimberley, Eastwood, Awsworth, Brinsley or the surrounding areas and would like to arrange a quote for affordable, high quality Window Cleaning!

Good afternoon everyone! 🙂

I’ve got a huge favour to ask!

If you have received a clean from me in the last couple of weeks, and you were pleased with the service you received and the quality of the clean, could I please ask that you pop onto my page and leave a quick review?

This just means that if anyone happens to come across my page and is considering getting a window cleaner, they are more likely to trust that they will be getting a trustworthy, passionate and hardworking cleaner that believes in what they do and the service that they provide. 👍🏻

As I keep saying, building a good reputation is crucial right now.

I want to build a business that people talk about positively and recommend to their family and friends, and a big part of that is the feedback that I receive.

*** As a thank you, anyone that writes a review on my page in the next 7 days, will be entered into a draw, and a winner will be chosen at random to receive one free clean and a box of chocolates as a thank you.

A runner up will also be chosen to receive a box of chocolates.***

I know I sound like a broken record, but again, thank you so much to everyone that has supported me as I set up this business and to those that have sent me heartfelt, kind messages over the last few weeks.

It means far more to me than I could ever even begin to put into words ❤️

After canvassing, the bulk of my work comes from referrals and word of mouth.

Im truly grateful to everyone that engages with or shares my posts and recommends my services to family or friends. ❤️

A huge part of this work is down to reputation and trust, and I’m far more likely to sign up a new customer if they know that I come recommended 👍🏻

I’m out and about canvassing again today, so if you would like a quote for 4-weekly window cleans, please drop me a message and I will do my best to come over today to provide you with a quote.

On another note, I experienced my first ‘where’s Dec’ joke from a customer last week… I was wondering how long that would take… 3 weeks apparently 👀

I hope you all have a great day! 🙂

Thanks,

Ant
