Another commercial customer added to my round 👍🏻

The owner told me that the windows hadn’t been cleaned professionally in a long time, and asked if I could do both an external and internal clean of all their windows and the doors.

It took around an hour to do the full clean inside and out, as well as the signage.

They were really pleased with the finished job and are going to speak to me about cleaning other restaurants they own and some rental properties in Wollaton and Lenton.

I also did a full facia clean on a huge house in Brinsley earlier in the day, and received a message last night from the customer saying what a fantastic job I had done and how much better it looked. 🪟 🧼

I have some more availability for facia/conservatory cleans this month, so if you would like a quote for a full house clean, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

I also offer traditional cleans on the insides of windows, and I make my own special cleaning formula that leaves the rooms smelling clean and fresh when finished 👌🏻

I hope you all had a wonderful summer ❤️

I have some exciting news and updates to share, and I need your help!

In the coming months, I am hoping to start the process of expanding my business.

Which will hopefully mean that in a couple of years, I have a fleet of vans out on the roads, offering window cleaning, gutter cleaning, corporate office cleaning, driveway pressure washing, full facia and conservatory roof cleans and much more!

For my current customers, very little will change for a while yet, as for at least the next year, I intend to continue to clean as normal.

It will only be once I have at least 3 vans on the road and a Field Supervisor / Manager who can go out with my staff and complete customer surveys, spot checks and canvassing for new customers (as well as servicing their own customer list) etc, that I will look to rent a small office space, and move to a more office based, director role.

Whilst I love my job and really enjoy cleaning windows, I have big plans for the next few years and understand that this will mean I need to take a step back for the cleaning side of things (I will still go out to help out on big jobs or when we have someone on holiday etc).

So, what do I need from you?

1) If you haven’t already, can you please leave me a review. Positive reviews mean that my content is more likely to be shared and pushes it up the algorithm.

2) I need to begin the process of expanding my customer base, so please recommend me to neighbours, family and friends who may be looking to get a window cleaner. It will be me that does the cleans for them initially and for a little while yet.

3) If you know of anyone that may be looking for a career change, who is hard working, friendly, and most importantly trustworthy, then please ask them to drop me a message so we can arrange a quick informal interview.

4) If anyone has an idea for a unique, professional (or fun) business name, let me know 🙂

I will hopefully be working with the Job Centre to help find work for people that may not be suited for the corporate world or a standard 9-5 job, due to Anxiety, ADHD or Autism etc. I hope to use my experience as a manager to give people with mental health issues, the opportunity to not only find work, but to thrive and earn a great income rather than relying on benefits.

I may also have need for a Trainee Admin Assistant to help with basic admin and our Social Media presence eventually.

The next stage is to put together a detailed business plan and start the process of arranging a business loan or sourcing investment.

I’ll be sharing more information as I have it, but if you think you can help with any of the points above or if you have experience in business expansion or sourcing investment, that you feel may be helpful for me, please don’t hesitate to drop me a message!

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

Just a quick one from me to let you all know that I am having a few well deserved days off, so that we can take the kids camping in the Peak District 🏕️

With all the new customers that have signed up recently, I’ve been working 7 days a week, and whilst it’s absolutely my choice because I love my job, it has started to drain me, especially with the weather we’ve had the last few weeks!

I need a few days going on hikes, playing cricket, and having picnics by the river with Alex and the kids ❤️

I will be working tomorrow morning as normal, and then clocking off in the afternoon, until next weekend!

If your clean is due in the next 5 days, and you don’t hear from me this afternoon (to confirm your clean is tomorrow), then I will be with you either next weekend or early next week.

Depending on my signal whilst we are away, I will still be providing quotes for new customers and facia/conservatory cleans etc, so feel free to drop me a message and I’ll get back to you as soon as I am able to 👍🏻

The much anticipated second round of the Twin vs Twin Traditional Window Cleaning competition took place this morning.

I took inspiration from FIFA and specifically Gianni Infantino, when judging the competition, and declared that whilst both competitors fought a good fight and made their families proud throughout the event, I am too cowardly to declare a winner and ‘favourite’ twin and therefore declared a tie… 🏆

In all honesty, they both did absolutely incredibly, and Finley’s clean today of the conservatory doors, was absolutely brilliant, and much like Rupert’s, did not require me to go over the clean for him afterwards.

Thank you so much to the customers who have been so lovely to the boys whilst they’re been with me this week… And especially those who even gave them chocolate, ice creams, drinks and cakes etc ❤️

Jessica Hopkins - thanks for hosting the second round of the competition for us and for the ice creams during the Hydration Break! 🙂

I’m sure they will be back out with me at various points over the summer holidays, so I’m going to have to invest in some mini hi-vis jackets and kids sized ‘Ant’s Window Cleaning’ T-shirts!! 👍🏻

Very, very proud of them both and we shall be having takeout for tea tonight as a treat.

I had one of my apprentices with me at work yesterday.

Rupert tagged along for the day and asked if he could do a traditional clean on a window.

With the customer’s permission I let him have a go at cleaning the door and side windows, fully expecting that I would need to give it a quick going over after he had done.

But he did a perfect clean… and had the pressure of the customer watching him and chatting to him whilst he did it! 👌🏻

Seeing the care and effort he put into the clean, and how polite he was with the customer, was definitely a massive proud dad moment ❤️

I’ve got Finley with me today, and I’ve told him there is no pressure, but whoever does the best clean over the two days will be my favourite twin going forward….

Some before and after pictures of a big job I had this morning, cleaning a property in Eastwood for a property developer that calls me when their rental houses are ready to be valued and put up for rent.

I spent a decent amount of time to get the windows and doors looking great, ready for the property to go up for rent.

Lots of brick dust etc to be cleaned off.

Really pleased with how this looked after I’d finished 👌🏻

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing well 🙂

Just a quick one to let my customers know that I am currently having an issue with my text messages / iMessages.

People have reported either not receiving my messages at all, or only receiving the first line of the message.

If anyone has experienced this issue on an iPhone before, and knows what may be causing it or how to fix it, I’d be super grateful for any help!

I’ve checked all the settings and nothing has changed or looks to be set up wrong… so I’m at a loss as to what may be causing it! 🤷🏻

Another big day today, including a couple of the biggest cleans I have on my Kirkby/Sutton round.

Despite the heat, I managed to get all of my work done today and received some lovely feedback on the cleans.

One of the customers asked if I could include the garage doors on their clean, and I was able to get them looking like new 👌🏻

I also had a first clean today, for a relative of one of my regular customers. The windows / doors had not been cleaned since they moved in last year, and they suspect the previous tenant had not cleaned them for some years.

It took a decent amount of time, but I managed to get everything looking loads better for them.

I still have limited availability on both my Kirkby/Sutton/Newstead/Underwood and Kimberley/Eastwood/Nuthall rounds, so please let me know if you, or someone you know, would like a quote for monthly cleans 🙂

I’ve recently learned that the volume and overall rating of your reviews can have an impact on the exposure your posts get and how likely your adverts etc will be bumped up the algorithm.

A 100% rating (which I’m currently sitting at!), means that my posts hit more potential customers.

It makes sense that Facebook is less likely to increase the exposure for a business or page that is receiving very few or negative reviews…

It will only take a matter of minutes for a review to be posted on my page, but it will make a massive difference to me.

Especially as I’m on the final push now to get a full customer list - I would love to achieve this before my business hits its first birthday in September!

Just a really quick reminder / request from me, if I could have a moment of your time please! 📢

If paying by bank transfer, can you please ensure that when entering the reference for the payment, that you use the first line of your address (the house number and postcode is fine also).

When doing my admin at the weekend, it can be difficult to match payments with the relevant customers, when I’m confronted by 20-30 payments that just say ‘Window Cleaning’.

I’ve got quite good now at remembering that the payments are for window cleaning, as I don’t offer dog walking, phone/laptop repairs or nail extensions (yet).

By all means put ‘Windows’ or ‘Ant Windows’ etc on the end of the payment reference (or anything to help you identify the payment), but please also include your house number and street name!

If you pay by cash, please be aware you do not need to include a reference, as I am often looking at the house and you, the customer, as I receive the money, so I can usually match these payments.
