I forgot to take an after-photo of this but I got the sill spotless and shining then used an oil followed by lithium grease spray to treat all the parts of the windscreen wiper mechanism, then I treated the newly cleaned plastic and rubber to prevent UV and weather damage.

I finally made use of a Halfords giftcard!
