One Year of independence to Ubuntu Cleaning!! 🎉💪🏼🥰
My journey to independence started on 01/03/2023, when I started my first domestic client, who is still ongoing and what a lovely man Mr. Dixon is.
Although it was only a side line venture at the time, it grew fast through references/word of mouth, and October 2024 I realised I can not manage a full time management job and the increasing demand for domestic cleaning any longer..... I'll have to choose.
I simply couldn't walk away from my lovely clients and decided to go solo. I was terrified but excited as well.
On 01 November 2024 I registered as self-employed, but stayed and helped my employer at the time and 15 November 2024 I worked my last day with them.
I still work alongside them today, they refer clients to me and I refer business to them, and I am extremely happy we could still do business together. I will forever be grateful to Steve at Bell cleaning services for the opportunities he has given me, for being so understanding, and for helping me on my new venture. To my team mates and old colleagues at Bell who are still in contact with me and still referring people to me so regularly, I owe part of my success to you, thank you 😊 💞
Two weeks after I left Bell I was fully booked 6 days a week with 32 clients, or so I thought.
Over time demand increased, clients moved away, passed away 😢 or for some circumstances simply changed.
Today I have 46 regular clients, 1 commercial contract and in total 49 properties around Newport, and Caldicot to take care of with the help of my son and daughter on some occasions. They have been real troopers.
No regrets at all, I do miss my old work friends in the office and the office banter, but I love what I do and I believe I make a difference.
Thank you to all my loyal and caring clients. It's been a year where we laughed, cried and celebrated many occasions together.
