Hello there, happy Friday.

I’m just finishing up this 4 bedroom semi detached Citroen, then I’m on holiday for a short period.

3 years later, a thousand new mobile guys working on your car without proper insurance to cover them.

Support the legitimate small business’ or there won’t be any left.

Please don’t try to barter me down on my prices, just because the uninsured part time car valeter around the corner can apparently offer the ‘same’ service for half the price.… if that’s the case, I wish you well. 👋🏼

Any correctly insured, full time mobile car valeter, knows the costs involved in running a business like this, believe me, the margins are tight. ✊🏼🦍

The dark side of valeting.

Nobody knows the pain of how long it takes to get this even to this level.

Your little Lilly brush ain’t gonna cut it, your nans old secret weapon of a marathon bar and some bicarbonate of soda ain’t doing it neither.

You need a healthy dose of graft and stubbornness.

Will it damage the fibres of the seat? Yes…. Is that my fault? Absolutely not.

Little text messages like this can make your day sometimes, I do a lot of very nice cars that demand a different type of skillset.
But a lot of the time I work on very used and abused work horses that people have loved for year and years, these require my valeting head.

These can sometimes make you feel that you’ve not quite done a good enough job due to their condition and they can leave you feeling dejected.

In my head I’ve never done a good enough job, I’ll never change.
