Tool hire services, such as Ashby Carpet Cleaner Hire, fall into the category of businesses which must close to public access, but which may continue offering delivery and click-and-collect services (where items are pre-ordered and collected without entering the premises).

Customers are also allowed to leave home to collect or return orders from these businesses.

However, we still need to stay safe!

As we can provide a Click & Collect service, we will continue to hire throughout the lockdown.

Contactless - All transactions are via bank transfer and an instructional video gives you all the information you need to use the Rug Doctor.

Drive through - You can even stay in your car and we'll put everything in the boot for you!

Additional cleaning - your Rug Doctor will be thoroughly cleaned using Flash wipes and Detol sprays before and after every hire. This is on top of the usual hygiene clean we've always done.

Quarantine - your Rug Doctor will be quarantined between hires. (For this reason, we are no longer offering week long hires)

We take responsibility for our own safety and that of your customers and will not hesitate to refuse service to anyone we consider to be unsafe.

Usually, I like to take each customer round the machine at the start of each hire to show them how they work. But, in the interest of social distancing, this is not practical at the moment.

Additional cleaning solution can be purchased for £5 per additional ltr.

We're hiring again!

Sorry to the customers i had to turn away.

Following government direction that non-essential shops and businesses can re-open today, I have made the decision to start hiring again.

As a "tool hire business", we could have remained open, but took the decision not to.

The safety of our customers is the highest priority, so strict controls will be in place to ensure I have done everything possible to keep the machines clean for the next customer to use with confidence.

🚗 Social distancing. On collection, please stay in your car and call or message to let us know you're here. I'll then get your machine and accessories and bring it to the boot of your car for you. If you'd like help getting it into your car, just leave the boot open.

🎦 Instruction video. I have recorded an instructional video going through everything I would usually do in person. I will send this to you once your booking is complete. Customers are encouraged to watch this video before collection and ask any questions over Facebook messenger.

🧼 Additional cleaning. Although each machine always gets cleaned up before the next hire, special consideration will be given to the casing, handles and surface of the machine, as well as the usual dirty bits. Machines will be wiped down with Flash surface wipes, including the plug, cleaning solution bottles and accessory bag then, the whole machine will be sprayed with a disinfectant.

📅 Fewer hires, no more 1 week hires. There will be a period of a few days between hires to allow for disinfectants to do their job, and to avoid any situations where a late return puts pressure on the machine being properly cleaned ready for the next collection. To allow more customers to get a chance to hire, 1 week hires will not be an option at the moment.
