Top tips for a feel good posative mood .....
I have learnt over the years that life events & change ( good or bad) can have a huge effect on your physical & mental health, this can effect your sleep patterns, moods your ability to deal with daily tasks easily & has a knock on effect to your physical health .... It can leave you feeling overall fed up & sluggish. As a mum we go through huge physical & hormonal body changes that all have an impact, and as parents we deal with daily stresses of family life, This all has a lasting impact on our overall health, the more new life events you experience and go through in a simgle season, the more likely you'll experience physical or low mood problems, change is hard good or bad !!
Sleeping.
Lack of sleep has a profoundly negative effect on your mood and the ability to handle stress.
Exercise
I walk my dogs daily... Exercise boosts levels of serotonin and dopamine in the brain, and has been shown to be as effective as antidepressants. A 30 min daily workout ( at your own personal level ) to great music (another good mood-booster) I also now dance again, this was somthing i loved when i was younger... and still do, huge feel good factor for me..... eventually found a way to be reunited with my youth.
Petting a dog boosts levels of the feel-good "love" hormone oxytocin and decreases levels of stress hormones ( works 100% for me :)) )
Brain-Boosting Foods
Food has a big impact on on the brain. " a brain booster green smoothies" every day, reduce any sugary treats, and up your intake of fruits, vegetables and fiber, salmon is great lots of Omega 3 - fatty acids are so good for the brain - and other healthy proteins, fish oil supplements are great and increased your daily dose of Vitamin D3, as there is a link between Vitamin D and mood.
What Went Well with my day......
At the end of your day, look back and find three things that went well. Reflect on them, and even replay them in your mind, revisiting those good feelings. I started doing this more actively - it's quite incredible how powerful this small exercise is.....
