We attended a property experiencing self-flooding within the chamber, backing up towards the property.

🔍 The problem:
The non-return valve had closed and restricted flow, causing water to build up within the chamber.
This resulted in surcharge conditions, with water backing up towards the property drainage system.

❌ Gravity system compromised
❌ Flow restricted with no escape route
❌ High risk of internal flooding

🔧 Our solution:
• Removed the failed non-return valve
• Reconfigured flow direction through the chamber
• Adjusted channel and benching to improve flow
• Installed a Jung Pumpen sewage lifting station

✅ Controlled pumped discharge system
✅ Eliminates backflow risk
✅ Protects the property from future flooding

A failed gravity system replaced with a reliable engineered solution — preventing water backing up into the property.

Non-Return Valve Installed – No Excavation Required

This chamber had no protection against backflow — leaving the property at risk of flooding.

We upgraded the existing chamber by breaking out the original benching and channel and installing a non-return valve (NRV) directly into the system — then fully re-benched and finished with safe access steps.

No excavation. No unnecessary disruption. Just a proper upgrade.

Before & after 💧

New homeowner was experiencing strong smells from the drainage system

On inspection, the existing tank was around 16 years old, poorly installed, with pipework incorrectly connected and even being used to hold the tank in place

There were also open holes in the system and no proper venting, which was causing the smell issues

We carried out a full upgrade with correct pipework, sealed connections and proper setup

System now running as it should 👍
