Today we’re highlighting Christine Burns - a British trans activist and policy adviser whose work has helped shape trans rights in the UK.
From contributing to the Gender Recognition Act 2004 to advising institutions on inclusion, she has focused on making everyday life safer and more accessible for trans people.
As LGBT+ History month comes to a close, we’ve reflected on just a few of the many people who have shaped our communities through activism, care, policy and advocacy.
LGBT+ history is built in different ways, and there are countless more stories to tell. This month is just one moment to recognise them.
At The Affirm Project, we believe continuing that history means supporting trans people with practical, accessible care.
