Cashmere truly is the winning fabric of winter fashion!
Utterly soft and wonderfully luxurious, cashmere is a delicate fabric that requires very special care to maintain its quality.
Firstly, it’s important to note that, in our opinion, cashmeres should almost always be professionally cleaned.
They’re expensive and incredibly delicate, so it’s often best to leave the cleaning to a professional who knows exactly how to care for it - like our team at BLANC!
However, if you’re in a pinch and need to care for cashmere at home, here are our best tips.
✨Always opt for hand-washing, or if you must use a machine, choose a delicate cycle on lowest spin.
✨ Use a mild detergent and we advise you to ditch the softener. If you do use softener, use incredibly sparingly, or use a cashmere-specific one.
✨ Always avoid twisting or wringing your cashmere, the fibres can very easily become distorted.
✨ Dry flat and avoid direct heat or sunlight.
✨ When storing cashmere, fold it neatly and store it in a breathable fabric bag or a cotton pillowcase to protect it from dust and moths.
✨ Be mindful of jewellery or accessories that could snag the delicate cashmere fibres.
By following our tips, you can ensure your cashmere items remain soft, luxurious, and in excellent condition for years to come.
