Early in 2021, as the world tentatively emerged from global lockdown, Norma from Your Perfect Travel contacted Mark to discuss setting up her new shop in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire. Your Perfect Travel has operated as an award-winning team of travel experts since 2013, but Norma wanted to offer something extra, something that would enable clients to really imagine and create their perfect holiday, from the safety and comfort of Your Perfect Travel’s high street premises.
Norma and Mark are both members of BNI International, (BNI links businesspeople together to network and develop personal connections in order to support local businesses). Through BNI networking, Norma knew Mark to be an expert in IT, so she shared her ideas with him and was overwhelmed with the practical and technical advice he was able to provide, in order to not only make her dream a reality, but far better than she had imagined possible.
In Norma’s own words,;
“I had a vision of how I wanted my high street travel agency to look and feel and I knew exactly what I wanted my customer experience to be, but I didn’t have a clue how to achieve it. As soon as I told you my vision, you were immediately full of ideas and suggestions to make it happen. Not only was I super impressed by your knowledge, but also in the quotes you provided and bringing my vision to life.”
Knowing what is possible is part of Mark’s speciality. Entrepreneurial by nature, he’s a techie who thinks big and likes shiny new things. He thrives on supporting and promoting local businesses and making technology work best to support their success.
Norma had wondered if she could perhaps have computer screens that would allow her clients to see what was on her laptop. This was enough to spark Mark’s imagination, and before long, Norma had a proposal for four state-of-the-art 55-inch digital screens, two for the shop front windows, and two inside the store for clients as they planned their holidays.
“I now have computers that are detachable and linked to digital screens where I can sit my clients in comfort while watching their dream holidays appear in front of them. Almost like sitting at home watching TV. In addition, we have digital window screens that can (and are) updated daily. Integrity designed templates for my team to be able to upload information as required. We have a live news ticker feed, links to weather in different destinations, window cards, video footage, graphics and so much more and you have made it easy for me, a non-technical person, to understand how it works and how to operate the equipment and software. Even when the stands that were ordered for the displays weren’t suitable, you ordered new stands and arranged for them to be installed. Just remarkable!!”
Mark oversaw the entire project - ordering, installing, and advising on ways to maximise promotional opportunities and how to programme the screen displays remotely. Norma can plan displays months in advance, from the comfort of her own home, or anywhere else in the world. Particularly in light of the disruption and uncertainty of Covid restrictions, having the flexibility to programme, edit and change the displays remotely is an invaluable feature, as is the ability to promote a future get-away as restrictions ease and international travel opens up.
Norma has already seen the impact such vivid, impactful and eye-catching technology has. She quotes one client who came into her store saying he didn’t want to spend much, but as his eyes were opened to the possibilities open to him, he was very happy to book a fantastic holiday.
