Today we had the opportunity to attend a local Leicester housing and homelessness networking event.

It’s really important for us at BioResponse Solutions to understand more about the challenges people experiencing homelessness face, and to connect with the organisations and professionals who are working with them every day.

Homelessness is about so much more than not having a roof over your head. There are often many different circumstances and challenges behind someone finding themselves on the streets, and we wanted to learn more about the support available locally and, importantly, how our services could potentially help.

Through our work, we have already been involved in situations where people have been living on the streets and properties have been left with needles, drug paraphernalia and other biohazardous waste. These environments can create serious risks for the people who need to enter them and for the wider community.

That’s why we feel it’s important for us to build relationships with local housing teams, charities, councils and other organisations so that when specialist cleaning, sharps removal, trauma cleaning or hazardous waste support is needed, they know who they can turn to.

It was a really worthwhile morning, with some great conversations and an opportunity to learn from people who are making a real difference in Leicester.

Thank you to everyone involved for making us feel welcome. We are looking forward to building more connections and seeing how BioResponse Solutions can support this important work.
