Meet the team! Say hello to Carlie Izzard, Deputy Manager at Haystack Lodge.

Carlie joined the Madiba community at the end of July 2026, and she's already settled right in at our largest home.

Here's what she has to say about life at Madiba:
"I enjoy that each day is different. I enjoy a fast paced work environment, and at the largest home in Madiba, I get to experience that daily! I feel valued and listened to all the time! The Madiba community is super supportive and helpful and the children are such amazing characters, it always makes my day to be greeted with such warmth and cheekiness!"

When she's not at Haystack Lodge, you'll find Carlie out in the countryside enjoying a scenic walk, usually being kept on her toes by her wonderfully crackers dog!

But why is a driving licence important when working in children’s residential care? ⤵️
