This week I swept for Bert (and his humans). He were extremely excited to have his stove prepped for the colder weather to come. And I was delighted to have a good fuss and play fetch - meeting your pets is a perk of a sweep's job :-)

Been too busy to post recently. Lots of sweeps plus fitting a lot of bird and rain guards.

I have a variety to ladders including specialist ones like this foldable extendable ladder designed to sit on a roof ridge for accessing higher chimney stacks - potentially saving you money on scaffold and allowing me to get to places the others might struggle with.

If you need a sweep or cowl fitted now is the time as the diary is filling up.

Easiest way to book is online choose a time and date to suit you https://book.wilkinschimneysweep.co.uk/

Went to fit a cap this morning to stop birds getting in a chimney. Had a look inside and found a mother nesting over her eggs. Legally I cant interfere with nesting birds (and I don't want to) so I climbed back down and will return later in the year when the jackdaw and her young have flown the nest.

Birds and there nests can cause all sorts of issues in chimneys as can rain water getting in and causing damp. Best to get a cap or cowl fitted if you can
