Buying new bits of cleaning gear? Come and have a peek of my recommendations.
As a client was talking about purchasing a new hoover it sparked an idea to do a post about gadgets Iād recommend. Iāve tried so many different mops/hoovers you name it.
1st off the hoover- I personally have a and yeah, it has a good suction, itās easy to fix and unclog/clean, but itās a nightmare to use on carpets (with out purchasing a specific carpet head) and hard to manoeuvre, especially if you have a small or cluttered house. However itās good trusty companion for many cleaners because it never really fails. Itās not the easiest to use, but does the job.
Now is honestly my favourite of them all. Yes, thereās others like Miele and AEG classic hoovers, but honestly the sharks are a great combo of good price, easy manoeuvring and brilliant suction. The upright ones are my absolute favourites to use.
I always recommend corded over cordless as eventually the batteries go and so does everything else. I have used shark cordless ones for years in my clients homes and theyāve been surprisingly good though- just go for the two batteries as they do die quicker the older they get.
Mops- now I love a good spray mop, but they arenāt all made equally! Vileda really has been the best Iāve found, you can get them a few quid cheaper, but they honestly arenāt as good or long lasting as the one. You can wash the mop heads and Iād recommend to have 2. One for bathrooms & one for kitchen/other floors.
The old fashioned set is also good and fool proof. Forget the Temu gimmicks and get a solid metal bucket and wooden mop. You can also wash these heads and leave them to soak in sterilisation solutions so all good in the hood! Plus they can look so good and vintage in cottage houses. Great for wooden floors, stone, slate, etc.
And then of course we canāt miss out a good steam mop. I love my . Itās sturdy, with a good cord lenght. Gives out a good amount of steam and is easy to manoeuvre.
