I have been blown away by the interest in my local venison post so much so that I have given all my remaining venison away. I will have more in the coming week so will contact all those that have been in touch.

There are alternatives to farmed meat and I hope that this helps to show that a sustainable source of food is right on our doorstep. I am grateful for all who have liked, shared and interacted with my page and would appreciate help in spreading it further.

I hate seeing how myxomatosis causes this level of suffering. If you ever come across a rabbit that does not run off when approached and has a swollen face then it probably has myxomatosis. 😢

An infected rabbit faces a long slow death from exposure and dehydration as it becomes totally blind in the latter stages. Not nice but the best thing for the poor creature is to put it out of its misery if you are able to (don’t worry, myxomatosis is not transmissible to humans).

A while back I came across a hedgehog with 40+ ticks covering its body so decided to remove as many as I could, give him a good feed and send him on his way. Always worth checking your pets and yourselves to see if you have any stowaways 🤢

P.S the hedgehog is still an occasional visitor to our garden when the cats leave some food!
