Bed Bug Treatment – Steam & Insecticide Application

This property had clear signs of bed bug activity, with live specimens discovered behind wall fixtures and around the bed area.

To eliminate the infestation, we carried out a targeted bed bug treatment using professional steam and insecticide application.

Treatment process:
• Full inspection of the affected room
• Removal of fixtures and inspection behind frames and fittings
• High-temperature steam treatment applied to cracks, joints, and harbourage areas to instantly kill bed bugs and eggs
• Residual insecticide applied to key areas including skirting boards, bed frames, and surrounding surfaces to provide ongoing control
• Advice given to the occupant on preparation and follow-up procedures

Steam is highly effective because the heat penetrates deep into cracks and fabric areas, killing bed bugs at all life stages, while the insecticide provides longer-term protection against remaining activity.

Early detection and professional treatment are essential when dealing with bed bugs to prevent the infestation spreading throughout the property.

Squirrel Activity in Loft Space

Severe squirrel activity identified within the loft void. Evidence included disturbed and compacted insulation, droppings throughout, and clear nesting areas formed within the insulation.

Squirrels can cause significant damage once inside a property. They commonly:
• Tear up insulation for nesting
• Gnaw timber, pipework and stored items
• Chew electrical wiring, creating fire risks
• Damage plasterboard and loft boarding
• Create strong odours and contamination from droppings and urine

In this case, trapping measures were installed and one squirrel was successfully caught. Further proofing and access point identification will be carried out to prevent re-entry and protect the property long-term.

Pigeon Cull & Guano Clean – Commercial Warehouse

Attended a commercial warehouse following reports of a pigeon infestation within the building. Large numbers of pigeons were roosting internally at high level steelwork and ledges, resulting in significant guano contamination to walls, flooring, and stock areas.

A controlled pigeon cull was carried out in accordance with current wildlife legislation and site-specific risk assessments. All works were undertaken safely using appropriate equipment and strict safety protocols.

Following the cull, a full guano clean was completed. This included:

• Removal of heavy guano deposits from floors, walls, ledges and structural steel
• Manual scraping of impacted areas
• Safe collection and disposal of contaminated waste
• Application of professional-grade disinfectant to sanitise affected areas
• Deep clean of floor surfaces to remove residue and reduce slip hazards

All operatives wore full PPE including disposable coveralls, gloves, and respiratory protection due to the health risks associated with pigeon guano (including bacteria and airborne spores).

Site left clean, sanitised, and significantly reduced risk of further contamination.

Kitchen Unit Proofing – Rat Entry Point

Attended property following reports of rats entering the kitchen area. On inspection, a gap was identified beneath the kitchen units at floor level, allowing rodent access from behind the cabinets.

Kickboards were removed to gain full access to the void. The affected area was cleared of debris and inspected for additional entry points. Proofing works were then carried out by sealing the identified gaps using rodent-resistant materials to prevent further access.

All areas were secured and kitchen units reinstated.

Entry point successfully sealed. No further access possible via this location.

✅ Find the ingress point ✅ Fix the ingress point ✅resolve all issues & stop rodent activity happening again. Rats gaining entry via drain system along the alley and around the back of the property under the conservatory. Rats have gnawed their way through the flex that’s located at the back of the toilet. Flex has been repaired. The only way to gain access to the toilet was to cut a large hole. We found a discomposing rat, which was removed and disposed of. The wall has now been completely repaired. We finished our work by installing a one way valve into the drain to stop rodents in there tracks but waste can flow. Customer was very happy with the work and have put their mind at ease knowing they will not have a rodent issue anymore.
