A Note to Our Valued Clients During the Hot Weather
As temperatures continue to rise, we'd like to thank all of our clients for their patience and understanding during periods of exceptionally hot weather.
While it may feel warm outside, carrying out manual cleaning work indoors is often significantly hotter. Many homes naturally retain heat, and without adequate airflow or air conditioning, indoor temperatures can become extremely challenging. When you add constant physical activity, carrying heavy equipment, vacuuming, mopping, lifting, bending and moving around the home, the physical demands increase considerably.
Some cleaning tasks also become much more difficult in high temperatures. For example, shower screens and mirrors can repeatedly steam up from body heat alone, making it incredibly difficult to achieve the spotless finish we strive for. Staff dripping with sweat while attempting to sanitise kitchens, bathrooms and living spaces is far from ideal for anyone.
The health, safety and wellbeing of our team will always remain our priority. As many of you know, we have always been open about adapting our working practices during periods of extreme heat. Several members of our team also manage ongoing health conditions, and whilst we work hard to accommodate these and continue providing an excellent service, prolonged high temperatures can make manual labour unsafe.
To help reduce the impact, we are:
Taking regular hydration and cooling breaks.
Pacing workloads throughout the day.
Ensuring constant access to cold drinking water.
Allowing flexibility with uniforms to help staff stay cool.
Monitoring staff wellbeing throughout each shift.
Adjusting schedules where necessary during periods of extreme heat.
We are also continually looking at ways to improve how we work, including investing in equipment and refining our processes so that our team can work more efficiently whenever possible. However, there are occasions where some properties become particularly difficult to clean safely in very high temperatures, and slight adjustments to schedules or working pace may be necessary.
We genuinely appreciate your understanding that cleaning is physically demanding work, and during extreme heat it becomes even more so. Our team remains committed to delivering the high standards you expect while ensuring everyone returns home safely at the end of the day.
